Hi there! Happy Wednesday!

WHAT IS A SWAP BOX?:

A swap box is where you and someone else go shopping for each other and fill up a box with goodies! You can pick a price limit, a theme, and a date to have the exchange mailed or given in person. My friend, Stephanie, who is also fellow YouTuber and blogger, decided a few months ago that it would be fun to do a swap box together and film ourselves opening the box to share our true first impressions! We picked a “beauty & lifestyle” theme because we both LOVE makeup, skincare, stationary, and girly goodies! We set our price limit to be $30 not counting shipping costs. We didn’t have a set date but just kept in touch about how we were doing as far as getting our boxes together.

WHY I LOVE THESE BOXES:

I think most people love snail mail, I even did a Happy Mail, post a couple months ago because I think it’s such a fun way to make someone else feel special. I love this because it’s sort of like doing a personal subscription box put together by someone who knows you! You can find groups on Facebook or other social media for snail mail or pen pals, but I haven’t ventured to that. I absolutely LOVE this and can’t wait to continue doing these with my friends.

Hi there! Happy Monday!

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was nice, but wow did it go by too fast! Monday always comes too soon! Over the weekend I filmed my Ipsy Glam Bag first impressions video, but instead of just my first impressions, I had my husband open it! So, even though I haven’t done a blog post on my Ipsy bag in months, I thought it would be a fun idea to bring it back to the blog this month so those who prefer to read can see the goods! I will have the video up within a week on my YouTube Channel.

I am excited about this! I already have a large tub of it from my PopSugar Must Have box from a few months ago, but I love this cream so I was happy to get a travel size.

Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator

I am so excited about this! Brighten up and exfoliate?! Yes!

tréStique Mini Matte Lip Crayon in Nantucket Nude

I’m really excited about this! I got an eye shadow crayon from them a few months ago that I like a lot, and this seems great too! Very comfortable on the lips, and the color is a very wearable nude. I wore it over an EOS lip balm so the finish wasn’t so matte, and I really liked it.

I was really happy to see a NYX product! I haven’t used the shadows yet, but they seem like very pretty colors and a perfect item to travel with. They swatch well, the light taupe-y color has a beautiful shimmer and so does the medium brown! The black shadow is not as pigmented as black shadows in other palettes I have, but still usable for sure.

Sephora Formula X Nail Polish in Ignite

I LOVE nail polish, and this is my first of the Formula X polishes that came out last year. I am so excited to try this, and it’s a beautiful color for fall!

Final Thoughts:

Overall I am very happy with this months bag, I will use all of these items happily and think it’s well worth the $10. This bag marks 1 year of getting Ipsy, and $120 spent, and this bag has encouraged me to stick with it for at least a couple of more months.

Hi there! Happy Wednesday!

First I want to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my husband, Stephan, who is celebrating his 29th birthday today! Thank you for your constant support and positive attitude!! I love you so!

Today I want to share my top 6 picks for lip colors you can apply in a rush. I love gorgeous bold lipsticks as much as the next girl, but I definitely can’t rock those colors every day. For one thing, I am constantly kissing little faces and that can be a pain ; ) But more often than not it is because I need to be able to apply color fast, and often times without a mirror, or in a moving vehicle.

*Note: please don’t try to apply makeup while driving ladies, it’s just not worth an accident! <– yes, I had to be a mom for a second.

Ipsy Glam Bag December 2014!

As promised in Monday’s blog post, today I want to share my Ipsy bag for December! If you don’t know, Ipsy Glam Bag is a $10/month subscription where you get 4-5 deluxe size samples or sometimes full size products in makeup, hair, nails, and skincare. Do you subscribe to Ipsy? I think the theme “Thinking of You” is sweet and the card says “You Are a Talented Being” which I love, I am saving the card to put on my desk or vanity! The bag is really simple and nice, it reminds me of bags that my mom would get at department stores when I was little, which I would then steal and carry around like they were fancy purses!! I was *so* elegant : ) : )

Bumble and Bumble BB Repair Blow Dry Serum-in-Creme:

Even though this is tiny, I am excited for a sample from Bumble and Bumble! I actually don’t blow dry my hair too often, I try to let it dry naturally since I put enough heat on it curling it regularly. I am excited to give this a try!

Cailyn Just Mineral Eye Polish in #5 Orchid:

I thought this was nail polish at first! I am not a fan of loose eye shadows for everyday use because they can be messy and take longer to apply, but this color is reeeeeally gorgeous!! The packaging and applicator remind me of Beauty Rush Luminous Shadows that Victorias Secret carried several years back. I am going to give this a shot because with a little blending this might be a gorgeous one-shadow look! Not my favorite thing, but hoping to get some use out of it. The pigmentation seems to be good, and of course there will be fallout with a loose shadow, but we will see how it wears! Did anyone else get this? What are you thoughts? I would love to hear what you think!

Nourish Organic Renewing Eye Cream with Avocado + Argan for Normal to Dry Skin:

Typically with eye creams I want something that’s a little more potent and will really help me combat dark circles and fine lines, but because I am pregnant this is a great gentle and safe alternative. This feels rich and very moisturizing for the delicate eye area.

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes in Black:

I have sooo many mini mascaras, but I love trying new ones and this is a formula I know I love!! I always wear a water proof mascara as my first layer because I haaaate when mascara transfers, but this is a great mascara that builds beautifully on itself!!!

NYX Butter Lip Balm in Parfait:

I am suuuper happy with this! I LOVE NYX lippies, and I’ve never tried one of their butter balms but I love their butter glosses! My lips have been so dry this pregnancy, but I like to have color on my lips, so a tinted balm like this is fantastic! This is going to be packed in my hospital bag (which I need to do….liiiike now! I’ll be 37 weeks Friday!) for sure!!
