5 MINUTE “MOM” MAKEUP AND MY DAUGHTER DOES MY MAKEUP!

Hi there! Happy Wednesday!

I get a lot of questions asking how I get ready every day or put on makeup every day when I have little three very young kids, so I thought I would share a few favorites for my super rushes mornings with you today. People also sometimes ask why I get ready when I have three very young kids and stay at home with them. How I get ready is I wake up early ; ) But in all seriousness, I make the choice to wake up earlier than my kids so that I can have a cup of coffee, a few minutes with my husband, and some time to throw on a little makeup in peace. Some days it works out and I have a full face of makeup on and even manage to curl my hair, other day I just slap a little on and throw my hair into a sock bun. Now, why do I always have makeup on? A lot of people assume that it is because we Daily Vlog our lives, but I’ve always been one to “get ready” every day. To me it is worth the extra effort because it makes me feel ready to have a happy and productive day. I feel a sense of control in a very hectic life, and feel “ready” for the day. Also, waking up early is so much less stressful in the long run because not only can I get myself ready, but I can compose myself, prepare breakfast, and THEN let the chaos begin!

We had a lot of family fun on Saturday, Hailey had her first lemonade stand on Sunday, and we enjoyed decorating Hailey’s bike and the boys wagon today! Hailey placed second in her age group for her bike decorating, and the boys also placed second place for their wagon : )

CURRENT FOUNDATION OBSESSION (DRUGSTORE)

I have a few favorite drugstore foundations, but I have one that I recently rediscovered and have been wearing almost daily. I told you last week I’ve been shopping my own stash and it really is a great way to use what you already have. You can read that Shop My Own Stash! Makeup Challenge post here : )

About My Skin:

I have combo/oily skin with larger pores (usually large pores and oil go hand-in-hand! woo hoo?!)

Covergirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous Fresh Complexion Oil-Free Foundation in 105 Classic Ivory:

This is a drugstore foundation that I picked up some time ago when it first came out. I liked this foundation but didn’t use it too much when I first purchased it, but now I am LOVING it and definitely picking up another when this one runs out. This foundation has coverage that you can build up from medium to fuller coverage. I like that it’s oil free and even though it’s fairly full coverage it doesn’t feel cakey on my skin. And probably the biggest pro for me is that it keeps me matte a lot longer than most foundations, so I don’t feel like I have to blot constantly or cake on the powder. I don’t want a foundation that feels heavy or like it will melt off my face if I go outside in the summer, and this one blends into the skin beautiful but still gives me the coverage I want. I also am a big fan of the squeeze tube because you can get every last bit out of it.

What is your go to foundation right now? I am still on the hunt for the perfect summer BB cream for my combo/oily skin! I want to try the Rimmel Matte BB Cream because I’ve heard good things : ) If you have a favorite, let me know that too!

SHOP MY OWN STASH! MAKEUP CHALLENGE!

If you’re a regular LeahTackles reader or if you watch my YouTube videos, then I don’t even have to say that I own and buy A LOT of makeup! But, lately I’ve been trying to use some of the makeup that I haven’t been giving as much love to lately. It’s fun to rediscover old favorites, or try out things that you might have not given a big chance to when you first used it. I would like to challenge you to dig through your makeup and pull out some of the gems that you already own!! If you really don’t like something, or if it’s really old you can always de-stash it or if it’s in good condition pass it on to a friend.

Too Faced Love Palette:

I actually did a blog post on the Too Faced Love Palette when it first came out about a year ago and I was OBSESSED with this for weeks! Not only is this a beautiful palette, but I can do full on five color look with it if I want to or I can use just one or two shadows for a super fast look that still looks like I really tried. This palette is definitely a shimmery palette, so you may want to use some mattes along with it, because it really only has a couple of matte shades. However, I do find that I can get looks that I love without having to use any other eye shadows. Because these eye shadows are shimmery, there is fallout and kickback when you put your brush into some of the shades, but they blend beautifully and the pigmentation is excellent. What I love the most about this palette is that the 15 shadows are separated into three sections of five eye shadows each, so it’s not intimidating to put together a look. I also think it’s a great way to enjoy some shimmery eye shadows without having to jump between a bunch of single shadows or palettes to have what you want. This palette also has adorable packaging and comes with example step-by-step look ideas. The palette comes with a full size of the Perfect Eyes Water proof eyeliner. The Perfect Eyes liner is very creamy and comfortable to wear so I find myself reaching for it quite often, but definitely NOT water proof and doesn’t last that long on my waterline. This palette is GORGEOUS for a date night or evening look, and looks stunning in low lighting (i.e: candlelight!) so the “Love” name definitely suits this beauty. This retails for $49 and it’s one of my more unique palettes that I don’t have anything else like it.

MACKINAC ISLAND ANNIVERSARY TRIP 2016 IN PICTURES!

And a great Father’s Day, too : ) My husband and I took our annual anniversary trip to Mackinac Island from Thursday-Friday, but this year we went sans kids! It was pretty amazing to have some special time together, and of course we missed the kids but it was definitely some much needed couple time for us! HOW I GET MONEY FOR SHOPPING ONLINE (REALLY!) USING EBATES!

I do a large part of my shopping online because I love shopping small and local when I can, but with three young kids and living in a small town that can be near impossible. I try to shop smart with sales and use coupons if I have a great one for something I actually need, but that’s always been pretty much the extent of money saving savvy for me. I kept hearing people talk about Ebates but I was skeptical because I thought I didn’t spend enough to actually get anything back, or thought that they would have some super involved sign up that would leave my head spinning. I made my account about a month ago, and have already gotten almost $20 plus a $10 giftcard! WHAT?! Below I will tell you how you can too! EVEN if you hate coupons : )

How To Sign Up for eBates:

I love eBates because signing up was EASY! I created an account in a couple of minutes without having to link a bank account or anything else that might leave some people uncomfortable. You can sign up for eBates here.

How It Works:

Before you make an online purchase you go to eBates.com and log-in to your eBates account. Once you are logged into your account you will search for the store that you would like to do a little shopping at. And then you click “shop now” and you will be redirected to the website of the store you want to make a purchase on. Right now Sephora, one of my personally favorites, has 8.0% CASH BACK on eBates! That is awesome! And the list of stores they have is incredibly long and diverse. You can get 8.0% cash back today at stores like Nike, Under Armour, American Eagle, and Sears. They are also beginning to do in-store cash back with a linked card, but I haven’t tried that *yet*.

How You Get Paid:

You can pick if you’d like to get a paper check in the mail to the address you provide on your account OR you can link your PayPal and be paid into your account directly. You also get a $10 giftcard to Walmart if you make a qualifying $25+ purchase within the first 90 days of joining. You can also share your link with friends and earn money if they sign up using your link. The biggest thing is to REMEMBER to go to Ebates first before you shop! I bought the kids new shoes from Stride Rite and kicked myself later because I forgot to use Ebates!!

I hope that all of you are having a great start to your week! We had a very busy, but very fun weekend! Hailey had four performances in 48 hours for dance recitals! She did a fantastic job, and I love watching her dance : ) My parents came to see Hailey’s recitial which was too short of a visit, but very fun. I hope that you’re all having a wonderful week! I get A LOT of questions on my hair, especially when people watch my YouTube videos, so I thought I would share one of my favorite hair products that I never hear people talk about. And the best part about this hidden gem is that it’s fairly inexpensive and you can order it on Amazon!

A Little About My Hair:

I have very fine hair, but I have a lot of it! My hair is naturally straight. My hair is color treated. I use heat on my hair most days, but I very rarely blow dry my hair.

Arvazallia Hydrating Argan Oil Mask:

Argan Oil is fantastic for hair because it helps to make it softer, silky, and it gives it a great shine! Who doesn’t want that? I use this in place of a regular conditioner and leave it on for five minutes minutes. It’s easy to wash your hair, then apply this as a conditioner and leave it on while you shave because that takes me about five minutes. I usually will wash my hair every other day, or sometimes every third day.

MY OILY SKIN SECRET! FIRST AID BEAUTY SKIN RESCUE OIL-FREE MATTIFYING GEL | SKINCARE REVIEW

Hi there! Happy Monday!

It’s June and the weather is warming up, and for me that means that my combo skills gets oily, especially my t-zone, fast! I recently ordered a few things from Sephora and wanted to share my thoughts on a mattifying gel I’ve been using.

First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Oil-Free Mattifying Gel

This gel claims to hydrate the skin, while regulating oil production, and minimizing the appearance of pores. I cleanse my face, use a toner, and then apply this to my face both morning and night. I like to focus it on my nose and the skin beside my nose where my pores are the largest (which makes sense because larger pores = more oil). I definitely think this has made a significant difference on my skin because I don’t have to blot my nose as early in the day as I did before using this. I also do notice that it helps blur out my pores which makes my makeup apply very nicely. You could use this as a makeup primer, but I do still like to use a bit of my Benefit Porefessional Primer as well before applying my makeup.
