A couple of weeks ago I posted a review of another Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask and I had to share another today because it is my new favorite!

The Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask is a water-based sheet mask contains Hyaluronic Acid, which is an ingredient that is naturally found in the skin and is a popular ingredient used to add moisture back to the skin. This mask also contains pomegranate extract to give lots of hydration. This mask provides 24-hour long-lasting hydration and helps prevent moisture loss throughout the day. My Thoughts

I love this mask! Like with most masks, I notice that my skin looks very even and bright after, but this mask is more than that. When I use this mask my skin feels incredibly moisturized and it lasts. I did this mask in the evening and woke up to skin that felt so much softer and less dry. I love the way this mask smells and it’s so relaxing after a long day. The weather is changing (we officially have sticking snow here in Michigan) and to me, that is a signal that its time to add moisture to my skin. I love masking and share face masks reviews.

My Thoughts

I love this mask! Like with most masks, I notice that my skin looks very even and bright after, but this mask is more than that. When I use this mask my skin feels incredibly moisturized and it lasts. I did this mask in the evening and woke up to skin that felt so much softer and less dry. I noticed so much of a difference that I even switched up the foundation I had been using because I wasn’t worried about dry patches on my cheeks. I will continue using this mask and think it’s a great one for a stocking stuffer!

Now that I’m in my 30’s I’ve come to love skincare, and find myself often more excited to try new skincare over new makeup (still love makeup, let’s not get crazy here). I have heard great things about hyaluronic acid, and today I want to share a product that has quickly become a go-to for me.

My Thoughts

I love that this formula is a gel but it is also moisturizing. I’ve heard that this Hydro Boost is great for dry skin, but I have combo/oily skin and have found it to work very well for me. I like to wear a moisturizer with S.P.F during the day. I have even used this during the day with a facial sunscreen over it. I find this to be very refreshing and like this using it especially when I feel that I’m dealing with breakouts because it doesn’t feel heavy. I bought a small sample size of this because it is a bit pricy for a drugstore brand skincare line, but now I know that it will be well worth my investment. I also still love the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Masks.

CeraVe AM Face Moisturizer with Sunscreen SPF 30 Review

If where you live is anything like where I am here in Michigan, the winter months make you crave sunshine, but even when it doesn’t look sunny it is important to wear SPF every day to protect your skin. Several months ago I shared my favorite sunscreen for the face, the Algenist Sublime Defense Ultra Lightweight UV Defense Fluid SPF 50, but have recently been trying out the CeraVe AM Face Moisturizer to see if it’s a more affordable drugstore option.

About CereVe AM Face Moisturizer SPF 30

My Thoughts

I was not surprised when this had a strong white cast because it is a sunscreen product, but it is much thicker than the Algenist Sublime Defense which is a very liquidy consistency, if I put some of the CereVe on my hand I could flip my hand over and it wouldn’t fall off. I found that as I would rub this into my skin it would pill up, similar to if you get fuzzies from socks or pajama pants, but if I used less of the lotion and rubbed it in upwards circles it worked without the pilling issue. I now only use this product mixed with other facial moisturizers (this is my favorite) and it seems to work very well that way. I do have combo/oily skin, so if you have dry skin you may not have the issues with the product pilling as you rub it into the skin. Would I buy it again? I would in a pinch to mix with other face moisturizers if I needed an affordable facial SPF that didn’t break me out, but otherwise, I’ll stick to the Algenist Sublime Defense. I do enjoy the CeraVe brand and was bummed I didn’t like this more. I am happy that it doesn’t break me out and will use it mixed. BEST AFFORDABLE LIP SCRUB | e.l.f Lip Exfoliator

I hope that your week has been fantastic so far! The cold weather is here in Michigan (snow on the ground, folks!) and for me that always means changing up my beauty and skincare routine to prevent dry skin and chapped lips. The e.l.f Lip Exfoliator is so good and so affordable that I just had to share it with you. Bonus points? It would be a welcomed addition into any gals stocking or perfect tied to the top of a gift.

About the e.l.f Lip Exfoliator

This lip exfoliator exfoliates the lips to remove dry, chapped skin. This exfoliator contains vitamin E, shea butter, avocado oil, grape oil, and jojoba oil which help nourish and protect your lips. This exfoliator gives the lips a conditioned feel.

My Thoughts

One of my best friends, and someone who doesn’t hold back her opinion when we chat beauty reviews (seriously, I should share our iMessages, but I won’t!) gifted me this exfoliator and so I was expecting good things. Also, EmilyNoel83 the woman on YouTube who I trust above anyone else is a huge fan of this product, so before I even used it I knew it had to be good! When you first open this product it will feel like a super moisturizing lip balm until you get a couple swipes in and you feel the exfoliating sugar scrub. I love that I can swipe this on without dipping my fingers into a jar because that isn’t the most sanitary and often times I will skip the scrubs like that simply because I don’t want to get it all over my fingers or under my nails. I love this scrub so much and will be using it as a regular part of my skincare routine.

My Routine

I like to use this before I wash my face each morning by doing a few swipes of the e.l.f Lip Exfoliator in Coconut over my lips and then wiping off the excess with a damp washcloth or small piece of paper towel. I like to use this before my face cleanser because then if any of the scrub got onto the skin around my lips I can wash it off so it doesn’t irritate my skin. I have been using this every morning and if you’re a lipstick girl? This is a MUST HAVE item! I truly can’t believe this is a $3 product! I have lip scrubs that have cost more than five times that amount (!) and I don’t like them as well.

AFFORDABLE MORNING CLEANSER FOR COMBO/OILY SKIN | CLEAN & CLEAR MORNING BURST® Skin Brightening Cleanser

Alright, now that the housekeeping notes are done, onto skin : ) It’s summer and while I like using anti-aging skincare now that I’ve entered my 30’s, I still have combo/oily skin that needs a little something to that in the summer months. I found a drugstore cleanser that is super cheap and has been working well for me that I want to share with you.

MORNING BURST^® Skin Brightening Cleanser

You may be familiar with the orange version of the MORNING BURST^® Skin Brightening Cleanser, but I was excited to try out the yellow because the color seemed happy for the morning and I love the idea of the scent of lemons waking me up. I also was intrigued about the caffeine element in skincare, and hopeful it would offer great brightening properties.

Product Claims

MORNING BURST^® Skin Brightening Cleanser is formulated with a unique blend of caffeine, lemon and papaya and cleanses to help brighten the appearance of your skin while releasing an invigorating fruit fragrance that awakens your senses. You skin will look brightened right away.

My Thoughts

I love the cheery yellow color of the packaging, and the lemon scent is very refreshing first thing in the monring. Caffeine in skincare can help temporarily reduce swelling and shrink blood vessles which can help reduce dark circles and tired looking skin, and as someone who gets less sleep than I should I love these benefits worked into my cleanser. I have to use a couple of pumps to get it to lather like I want, but I really love this cleanser. The cleanser doesn’t have a lot of the microbeads, but it is just enough to feel a very gentle efoliation. I like this as a basic, not very intense or abrasive, cleanser to use on a daily basis.

My Routine

The first thing I do every single day is wash my face with cold (yep, cold) water to wake myself up and get my day started. I use the MORNING BURST^® Skin Brightening Cleanser, mostly with my hands but sometimes with my Clarisonic, before moving on to the rest of my morning skincare.

I really loved how cooling this mask felt, and I’ve shown the trick I use on my LeahTacklesBeauty Instagram where I put my mask in the fridge or freezer but the Clean & Clear Night Relaxing Jelly Eye Sheet Mask was very cold without doing that step. My skin felt incredibly hydrated after using this mask, and the cooling feeling gave me the same sensation as splashing cool water on my face to wake up–very refreshing!

YES TO TOMATOES DETOXIFYING CHARCOAL SLEEPING MASK REVIEW | DRUGSTORE OVERNIGHT SLEEP MASK

Are you ready to tackle the week? I have been feeling the mid winter slump lately, and have been trying to have perk myself up by treating myself to some new masks. I have noticed sleeping masks (masks that are meant to worn overnight) popping up all over and decided to give a few a try. Today I want to share my thoughts on one from one of my favorite lines, Yes To Tomatoes.

My Thoughts

I love masking, and the Yes To Tomatoes Clear Skin Daily Balancing Moisturizer is one of my go-to favorites, so I decided to try out the Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Sleeping Mask. I applied the mask with my fingers to freshly cleansed skin. I decided to apply this mask with my fingers because the directions said that you could massage it into the skin before catching those Z’s while it does its magic. I did use the entire packet, as it is advertised as a single use mask, but I think next time I would have plenty to get two uses out of it. The mask did absorb into the skin, after a bit of time (I did apply quite heavily) and did not transfer onto my pillow. I rinsed the mask off the next morning, and my skin felt very soft just like it does after uses other face masks. My skin did appear less red, and I will definitely be using it again.

FOOT PEELING MASK? | FOOT PEELING SHOES BY TONY MOLY

I absolutely adore face masks, and I tend to mask at least two or three times each week, but until last night I had never attempted a foot mask. I was in Ulta last week grabbing a few essentials (which I got for FREE thanks to my Ultamate Rewards!) and the little display of add-on tempting goodies by the que caught my eye as usual and I ended up grabbing the Changing Magic Foot Peeling Shoes by Tony Moly.

Tony Moly Foot Peeling Shoes Claims

Tony Moly’s Foot Peeling Shoes can be used to make your feet feel smooth. I had to laugh at “Steps that can transform an average-looking woman into an attractive lady” printed on the package. This liquid based foot care product removes keratin. These peeling shoes contain AHA extract which comes from apples, lemons, and grapes and work to gently remove excessive calluses from your feet. This foot mask also contains aloe vera and rose hip oil, which moisturize and sooth your feet.

My Thoughts

I don’t have a major issue with bad calluses, but I definitely have feet that could use a little TLC due to not giving myself a pedicure or scrub in far too long this winter boot season. I took a long hot shower and then applied the sheets to my feet after toweling them dry. The top had to be pulled lightly to rip it open, but realized that it is to make sure that the liquid stays inside and contained until you’re ready to slip your feet into the mask booties. I wear a size 8.5 or 9 shoe and the booties felt with plenty of room. I used the included strips of tape to secure the top of the bootie. I did walk in the booties, carefully, and it feels odd because you’re essentially walking in a pair of socks with a wet liquid sloshing around. I sat on the couch for most of the suggest 1-1.5 hours and then threw away the booties and rinsed my feet in warm water.

My Results

My feet feel baby soft which is pretty remarkable considering I didn’t use any sort of pumice or exfoliation and also used no lotion.

Follow Up?

The directions say that I should notice the dead cells peeling and falling off in a little under a week. BY NATURE FROM NEW ZEALAND SHEET MASK REVIEW

I hope you are having a great day so far : ) I love masking, and try to do a mask of some kind at least a couple of times each week, and I love trying out different masks. I recently was gifted several By Nature masks (good job, hubs!) and wanted to share my thoughts with you.

By Nature Mask Claims

These masks are pre-moistened and said to be easy to use. The product description says to relax and let the active ingredients work to smooth and replenish your skin. It is suggested to incorporate these masks into part of your skincare routine. By Nature face masks help the skin by opening the pores thereby enabling the active ingredients to deliver optimum benefit to the skin and promoting a smoother, healthier, radiant complexion.

My Thoughts

These masks can be purchased at Walmart for only a couple of dollars, which makes them convenient and affordable to make a regular part of your skincare routine. I love having sheet masks on hand because some days I want to treat my skin, it has worked hard after all sporting makeup and in all sorts of weather, but I don’t feel like going through the extra steps of applying a mud or peel off style mask. I think the By Nature masks are a fantastic price-point, have a nice smell that isn’t overpowering, and have very attractive packaging. Like most sheet masks these are chilly when first applied, but the feeling is very soothing, especially around the eye area. I find that my skin looks very even immediately after use, which I love, and it feels SO SOFT which I also love. However, I can’t say that these masks performed any better than other sheet masks I’ve used.

My Routine

I remove my makeup and then apply my By Nature sheet mask. I like to do these masks in the evenings, because that is when it fits into my schedule, but I think they’d also be a great part of a pre-makeup morning routine with a cup of coffee or tea. I typically walk around the house chasing my kids or finishing laundry while rocking these masks, though I imagine they’re much more relaxing if you can enjoy it while relaxing. After the mask has been on my face for about 15 minutes I will remove it and lightly press the excess moisture that remains on my face into my skin. I then continue with the rest of my nightly skin routine, beginning with cleansing my skin. I try to do these masks at least twice a week, but if my skin is really acting up or I have a big event coming up, I will try to do them more.
