If it makes you happy…

January 12, 2015 & 4 Comments

Hi there! Happy Monday!

Who remembers that song “If It Makes You Happy” by Sheryl Crow? When I decided that I wanted to share a few things in my room that make me happy, I couldn’t get that song out of my head! I am a big believer in making life as beautiful, enjoyable, and special as possible…life is short! Surround yourself in pretty things! A quick DIY or some washi tape can completely change something from ordinary to fab!! Thank you for being here! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! *Hopefully* I have a brand new baby boy in my arms when you’re reading this, but as I write this he still hasn’t made his appearance. I will definitely be doing an introduction post to our new little man as well! Get ready for some picture posts!!

Products I’ve Used Up?! January Empties! Part 2

January 7, 2015 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Wednesday!

Today I will be continuing my post from Monday, Products I’ve Used Up?! January Empties! Part 1, and sharing if I would repurchase, and a mini review.

Empties Part 2:

januaryempties-productsiveusedup-leahtackles.jpeg

Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray:

I love the Urban Decay makeup setting sprays, I have already repurchased one but I picked up All-Nighter this time instead of De-Slick.

Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder in 10 Porcelain Ivory:

I love this powder! It is fantastic for setting my foundation, and adds a little extra coverage. I have already repurchased this.

Orajel Training Toothpaste Fluoride-Free in Berry Fun:

This is for the kiddos, and we have already repurchased it! We are getting Hailey ready for “big girl” toothpaste but continue to use this for Connor.

O•P•I Drip Dry Drops:

I ran out of these so long ago and seriously need to repurchase them! These drops help dry your nails SUPER fast when you’re rushing! I don’t use them every time I paint my nails, I do find they dull the shine just ever ever ever so slightly, but they’re amazing for when you don’t have forever to sit around waiting for your nails to dry!!

Pureology Serious Colour Care Antifade Complex Shampoo:

I love these shampoos! I have not repurchased, but have a different Pureology shampoo in my shower.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Cream for Stretch Marks:

I used this during this pregnancy and I do like it for my belly, breasts, and buns! But I did not repurchase it because I opted to use an oil by Burt’s Bees.

Colgate 360 Toothbrush:

These are my favorite toothbrushes! For 2015 I would like to get us some nice electric toothbrushes, but these are my standbys for sure! Any suggestions for a great electric toothbrush would be apprecaited! Let me know in the comments if you have a favorite!

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream:

I really like this hand cream in the winter months. I didn’t like it at first because I was using too much, but if you use just a pea sized dab works beautifully! I will repurchase!

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Hair Mask:

I only had a small sample of this, so I only got a couple of uses out of it, but I did enjoy it! I don’t plan to repurchase it because there are lots of other hair marks I have on my “to try” list, but this did seem nice.

Estée Lauder Advanced Time Zone Age Reversing Line/Wrinkle Eye Cream:

I got a sample the last time I went to purchase my Estée Lauder staples and I did enjoy this eye cream, but I have not repurchased it.

H2o+ Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment:

This was a small sample from my Ipsy Glam Bag but I got quite a few uses out of it. It is a gel consistency, it felt hydrating, and did not break me out. I would consider purchasing this in the future, I think it would feel great in the summer!

Patagonia Ayres Body Butter with Essential Oils Jasmine and Rosemary:

This was another small sample, but I did enjoy the rich formula and the scent was very relaxing.

Anastasia of Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Ash:

I adore this and it has already been repurchased this! This will help you make sure that your brows are on fleek (on point!) : )

Thank you SO much for being here, reading, and for the continued support! Please be sure to subscribe! It’s easy, just enter your email in the box that says “subscribe” and you will get an email to confirm your subscription! Thank you!!

Products I Used Up?! January 2015 Empties! Part 1

January 5, 2015 & 1 Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

I have been saving all of my empty beauty and tolietries in a basket in my closet for awhile now so that I could share an empties post with you! I love reading these types of post and watching these types of videos because 1) It’s helpful to hear if people would repurchase or not and a quick mini review, and 2) Let’s be honest, isn’t everyone just a *tiny* bit nosy?! It’s fun to see!

Let’s get into it!

January Empties:

januaryempties-productsiveusedup-leahtackles.jpeg

Estée Lauder Advanced Time Zone Night Age Reversing Line/Wrinkle Cream:

Fabulous, thick, and luxurious night cream! This lasts because a small amount goes a long way. This has already been repurchased (by my momma for Christmas! Thank you!!) and will be for a long time! Love!

Estée Lauder DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Cream with Broad Spectrum SPF:

Same as the above! I love this and it is my favorite moisturizer. It is PERFECT for my combo/oily skin.

Gillette Venus Spa 3 Blade Shave Gel Bars:

I have been using Venus razor blades forever! I love the build in gel bar because it saves me so much time!

Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea Fine Fragrance Mist:

I don’t really like body sprays, I am definitely a perfume girl, but I like using a body spray in the evenings as part of my nighttime routine or sometimes when I’m just getting out of the shower or bath. I was glad to use this up and I won’t be repurchasing it, but not because there is anything bad about it.

Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Fine Fragrance Mist:

Same exact review as above!

Kleenex Hand Towels:

I use these to dry my face after cleansing because it is much more sanitary than using a towel. I love these and have already repurchased more.

Caress Evenly Gorgeous Burnt Brown Sugar & Karite Butter Exfoliating Body Wash:

I LOVE THIS! I will repurchase this over and over!! It smells amazing, exfoliates beautifully, and feels just as fabulous as a more expensive body wash. Awesome!

Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Nourishing Baby Oil:

I am SUPER pregnant (maybe when you read this I won’t be anymore?! maybe?!) and I like slathering this on my belly, breasts, butt…all the areas prone to dryness and strech marks. They make a Mama Bee Oil, which I also like, but this works just as well for me.

Lollia At Last Perfumed Shower Gel with White Petals & Rice Flower:

I got this in one of my PopSugar Must Have Boxes. I liked this, but I would not repurchase because I do not think that it was anything that special for the price point.

Dove Clinical Protection Clear Tone Deodorant Solid:

I love the clinical strength deodorants for the peace of mind, and will continue to purchase this.

Equate Sensitive Skin Feminine Wash in Soft Petal:

Using a special feminine wash or completely scent free soap is so important…gotta protect those lady bits! I have used both this brand, the Walmart brand, as well as the Summer’s Eve and like them equally.

Dr. Scholl’s For Her Rub Relief Gel Spots for Tartgeted Blister Protection:

I love these in my heels and flats! I have even put them in my husbands Sperry’s! These work so well!

Garnier Fructis Style Volumizing Anti-Humidity Hairspray:

I really like this hairspray for a light hold and daily use.

Philosophy Eye Hope Multitasking Eye Cream for Dark Circles, Puffiness & Lines:

I love this! I have not repurchased it yet, but I would in the future.

Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream:

I have been using this for a couple of years now as part of my morning routine. I really like this because I have VERY dark circles from a combination of genetics and mommyhood and this really helps.

Phew! That was a lot and that was only part 1! Thank you so much for reading : )

What I Got For Christmas 2014!!

December 31, 2014 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Wednesday! And Happy New Year’s Eve!

Today I want to share some of the wonderful gifts that I was lucky enough to get from loved ones for Christmas. As a disclaimer: I am in no way bragging! I feel *extremely* blessed to have been given these things, and hope that you enjoy seeing posts like this! I love to read and watch “What I got For Christmas” posts and videos, and I hope you do too! If not, that’s okay too : )

What I Got For Christmas 2014:

whatigotforchristmas2014-leahtackles.jpeg

#1 The Selfie by Gabba Goods:

I think this is such a fun little gadget and can’t wait to try it out! I am not sure it will help much with selfies, it isn’t like those little sticks that you can put your phone on, but I think it would be great for group selfies for sure!! I love this…hopefully this will improve my Instagram ; )

#2 Sticks Stones Necklace by Love Nail Tree:

This necklace is so unique and stunning! I love that it’s simple but a longer style. I can’t wait to style this!!!

#3 Nirvana White Rollerball by Elizabeth and James:

I have been wanting this for a long time now!! I love the Nirvana Black as well, and think I will add it to my collection soon. I also was a huuuuge Mary-Kate and Ashley fan when I was little, so it’s fun that this is from their high-end brand. On another note, have you SEEN the Elizabeth and James jewelry line?! *SWOOOON!*

#4 Cranberry and Gray Scarf, Headband, and Gloves by Coach:

This was such a great gift because  I wouldn’t gravitate towards this cranberry color, but I am really enjoying it! I love it with the gray, one of my favorite colors to wear, and love that each of these pieces are just as gorgeous worn on their own. The gloves aren’t tech gloves, but they do fold back for easy touch screen use.

#5 Full Frontal Lipstick Stash Set by Urban Decay:

urbandecayfullfrontalrevolutionlipsticks-leahtackles.jpeg

I have one Urban Decay Revolution lipstick that I adore, so I was super excited to get this set. These mini lipsticks are adorable and I don’t mind that they’re small because it isn’t often that I actually use up a lipstick! Gorgeous, pigmented, creamy lipsticks in STUNNING shades!!

#6 Life Planner and Accessories by Erin Condren:

erincondrenlifeplanners-leahtackles.jpeg

I wish I could explain this planner to you but I think this will deserve an entire blog post or maybe even a video! This planner is EVERYTHING you could want in a planner! Also, Erin Condren the creator of the Life Planner is a Delta Gamma like me : ) Seriously, I know it may be a bit late to order a planner, but this would be worth ordering and getting a bit late. There are tons of options, they have custom options, and tons of fun accessories. I can’t wait to start using this!!!

As always thank you for reading!! If you have already subscribed, thank you! If you haven’t, please do and make my day! You can find me on social media by using the buttons at the bottom of this post or at the top of this page!!

We also had a small co-ed “Sprinkle of Love” for our baby boy over the weekend and that was such a great time! We are blessed!! Today I want to share some pictures and send love from my family to yours!! On Wednesday be ready for some of my favorite gifts of Christmas 2014!!

LAST MINUTE STOCKING STUFFER IDEAS *VIDEO*!!!!

December 22, 2014 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

I hope that you had a great weekend!! There are still a couple of shopping days before Christmas and I want to share some last minute stocking stuffer ideas for those of you who may not quiiiiite be done yet. As I said awhile back, I am going to be launching both an Etsy store AND a YouTube channel in 2015….eeep! I am very excited, but also nervous! Today I decided to film a quick video on my phone showing you what I have in the stockings for Connor, who just turned 2, and Hailey, who is 3 1/2.

*Note: I almost did not upload this! I am a perfectionist and I apologize for the low quality of this video! Just after filming it today I’ve already discovered a few things to do for next time, but I think that by putting this up I will force myself to research, practice, and learn to make what I hope to be very high quality and enjoyable videos. I have been researching and learning as much as I can, and there is so much to learn, but I know by posting this first video I will be eager to get my channel set up, and start filming NON-iPHONE videos in the future : ) So, watch this quickly because I’m sure I’ll eventually put this craptastic video on private ; ) Thank you SO much for all of the support, and please please please go watch and subscribe (if you have a gmail email, you have a YouTube! Just click the red subscribe button)!!

POPSUGAR MUST HAVE BOX DECEMBER 2014!! *BONUS POST*

December 19, 2014 & 1 Comment

Hi there! Happy Friday!!

Today I have ANOTHER bonus post because I got my December PopSugar Must Have Box and have to share it with you right away! It’s suuuuch a good one!

If you don’t know, the box contains full size items in all different categories: food, beauty, fashion, home, and sometimes an extra goodie too! *Usually* the PopSugar box usually arrives between the 10th-15th of every month for me…it ships from California via FedEx Smart Post, which means it goes out FedEx but arrives to my P.O Box.

December 2014 Must Have Box:

popsugarmusthaveboxdecember2014-leahtackles.jpeg

Speckled Metallic Scarf from SPUN by Subtle Luxury

popsugarmusthaveboxdecember2014-leahtackles.jpeg

I love this! Anything metallic, especially gold, catches my eye! I absolutely love this lightweight scarf and think it’s a great way to add a little sparkle to any outfit.

$62

Sydney Necklace from Sparkle Pop

sparklepop-popsugarmusthave-leahtackles.jpeg

This is by far my favorite thing in the box!! It is *so* sparkly! I was doing my monthly unboxing with my 3 year old, and she nearly broke my heart when she said “Mom! Check and see if there is another one in the bag” because she loved it so much, too. I couldn’t blame her, it’s stunning!

$42

Platinum Bowl by Canvas Duaville

canvasdauville-popsugarmusthave-leahtackles.jpeg

popsugarmusthavebox-december2014-leahtackles.jpeg

This bowl is plain matte white on the outside, but on the inside it is a super sparkly platinum! This looks PERFECT with the Sydney Necklace above tossed inside! I adore this for a jewelry catch-all.

$29

Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquer

smashboxbelegendary-leahtackles.jpeg

This deep bordeaux color is perfect for winter! I thought that staying power was great, and I haven’t braved it without a lip liner yet, but with a liner I didn’t have any bleeding or feathering. I really like this color, the gloss formula (again, my DRY lips need it!), and the stain it left was beautiful! Even after eating out at a mexican resturant!

$24

Parcel Tags from Knot & Bow

knotandbowparceltags-popsugarmusthave-leahtackles.jpeg

These little tags are cute! I think they would look adorable with a name written in gold sharpie : ) I don’t love these for Christmas gifts, but I like them for other gift giving, or labeling around the house! I love that these are from an etsy.com shop!

$4

Cupcake Mix in Vanilla Bean from William-Sonoma

williamsonomacupcakemix-popsugarmusthavebox-leahtackles.jpeg

I was hoping for some fancy smancy chocolate this month, but I am not complaining about this ; ) I love William-Sonoma cooking ware, but haven’t tried any of their mixes. Hailey, my 3 year old, LOVES to bake with me! So, we will have fun with these even though I wouldn’t pay this much for cupcake mix myself : )

$14.95

I looooove this box! The $175.95 total value is fabulous and I think this box is absolutely worth the $39 price!  Do you subscribe to PopSugar? If you would like to you can sign up here for $39/month! If there are any other subscriptions that you think I need to try, let me know in the comments or find me on social media! It’s always LeahTackles : ) Good luck getting all of your last minute Christmas shopping, baking, and wrapping done this weekend!!
