CHEAP SELF-TANNING LOTION | OCEAN POTION EVER GLOW SELF-TANNING LOTION REVIEW

The title of today’s blog post isn’t as polished as I typically like, and using the word cheap does make me cringe a little on the inside because cheap can mean a low price-point OR a low-quality. But, I used the word cheap over the word affordable because as a consumer when I hear affordable it really doesn’t always mean too much, because everyone has their own version of what is or is not an affordable price, but when I hear cheap? I know exactly what that means. When I use google to look for something I will type in “cheap” over affordable and the product I’m sharing with you today is cheap in price.

 

 

About Ocean Potion Ever Glow Self-Tanning Lotion

This lotion claims that it will give your skin a sun-kissed glow with daily use and moisturizes to extend the life of your tan, and reduce peeling. Ocean Potion Ever Glow is free of alcohol, parabens, propylene glycol, gluten, phthalate, BPA, BHT, and does not test on animals.

My Thoughts

I like using sunless tanners all year long, and I often mix my favorite sunless tanner with lotion, so I was excited to find a very inexpensive self-tanning lotion. This color is extremely light and subtle, but I think it’s great for the winter months when I just want a little hint of color so that my skin has a bit of glow. I do notice that if you use it a few days in a row that it will build the color up slightly, but don’t find that it gets to as deep a color as a true sunless tanner.  I love that I can rub this in quickly like a regular body lotion right after I get out of the shower and I don’t have to worry as much about waiting until it dries to dress or about color transferring on my clothes or sheets. I wouldn’t use this before a big event where I wanted a dramatic difference, but I will continue to use this as body lotion that gives me just the tiniest bit of color. *Tip: Amazon does have good deals on it from time-to-time, but it’s always cheap cheap at Walmart ; )

LOOK MORE AWAKE WITH EYE DROPS! WHITEN YOUR EYES WITH EYE DROPS

I hope that you’re day is off to a fantastic start! Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my blog : ) One of the easiest ways to look prettier is by having the whites around your eyes white, you know as opposed to red and tired, and the longterm way to do that is by eating healthy and getting more sleep. Do you ever promise yourself you’ll go to bed earlier or that you’ll squeeze in a power nap but you never seem to make it happen? Me too, so today I want to share trick I use when I want to look more rested and more beautiful. *Note: You’re pretty just as you are, but who doesn’t look better when they look more awake?

You may already been familier with the trick of lining your lower waterline with a nude or white eyeliner to make your eyes look brighter, but to really change the appearance of the whites of your eyes the quicked fix is a redness relief eye drop.

My Routine

I don’t use redness eye drops daily, but I will grab them on days when I know that my eyes look tired or red, and they instantly make me look less like a walking mombie and more like a semi-awake human mom. Because I am not an optometrist I want you to read this to make sure that you’re doing what is medically sound for youself, but because these are an over-the-counter drop for redness I have no issue using them for their intended purpose on occasion. I love using this trick especially before having my picture taken or before I’m on video.

I hope that you had a great weekend! I have been working on changing my decor over from fall to winter and holiday (does anyone else have their tree up? Just me?!) and I realized that I’m doing the same thing with my skincare. I have combo/oily skin, but now that I’m in the 30-Something Club, I have been reaching for serums and oils at night. I spoke about my favorite Sunday Riley Sleeping Night Oil before, and today I want to share a new sleeping nigh toil that I’ve been using.

My Thoughts

When I am using a night oil my biggest concerns are that it absorbs into my skin well and that it does what it claims without breaking me out, and this serum fits that bill! I love that I can feel like I am doing a luxurious anti-aging treatment while also reducing the appearance of pores and keeping them clear. This doesn’t transfer onto my pillow, and it absorbs fairly quickly into my skin. I really like that it’s a generous price for the amount you receive compared to other sleeping night oils and night serums, and a little goes a long way.

My Routine

After I cleanse my skin I use a toner (I like this for days when I want to work on clear skin and this for days when I want to work on anti-aging) and then apply the Zaman Sleeping Oil in upwards circular motions to my face, neck, and décolletage. I rub any extra onto my hands and then let it absorb for a bit before getting into bed.

My Thoughts

I was a little hesitant when I first heard about this product, because I didn’t think it would be different than your standard costume or Halloween aisle glitter hairspray standby, but this product has really won me over! Not only does this smell like baked treats, but it sprays such a fine mist of beautiful glitter that it is totally giving me magical, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique vibes. I love that I can feel good about spraying it in my hair because it contains quality ingredients that are actually good for my hair. I have had fun using this product during the Halloween festitivies with my Little Loves, and think it would be amazing for concerts, festivals, New Years, dance recitals or compeitions, or any night when you just need a little glam. I also love that this product is safe for your skin, because the mist is so fine that a little bit applied to the shoulders or collarbone would be stunning for a glittery night out. Will I wear this daily? Definitely not, but I am happy to have this in my beauty arsenal. My daughter, who is seven, is LOVING it too ; ) She’s rocking it this Halloween, and I am sure any chance she gets!

I hope that your week is starting off fabulously! I have my coffee in hand and I am ready to tackle this Monday. I often share face mask reviews and today I want to share on that I recently found by one of my favorite affordable single-use mask brands, Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven,

About the Mask

This mask claims it will help cleanse, reduce redness, and purify pores. The Pink Guava Peel-Off Mask contains ingredients rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants. Combining Mangosteen Fruit (a natural “break-out” fighter) with Guava Fruit this helps improve skin tone and dark spots. Peel Off masks are gentler and more effective than scrubs whilst leaving skin incredibly purified and smooth.

My Thoughts

I was so excited to see a new mask added to the 7th Heaven line! I love using these affordable single-use masks a couple of times a week so that my skin doesn’t get so angry with me for exhausting it day after day with long days, makeup, and never enough sleep. This mask smells great, is super pretty, and peels off easily. My skin looks even and brighter when I wash it off.

My Routine

After removing my makeup I apply the Pink Guava Peel-Off Mask with an inexpensive foundation brush. I leave the brush off for 15-20 minutes and then peel off. I love how satisfying the feeling off peeling off the mask is and it really feels like I am peeling away the impurities from my skin. I then continue with my evening skincare routine.

My Thoughts

I usually use a liquid eyeliner (I love this one) so the less exact point was different than my norm, but I have been impressed with these eyeliners. I like using the brown for subtle, natural makeup looks and even though it’s less harsh it still lasts all-day which is impressive. I also have used the black both with false lashes and smudged for a smokey evening look. The built-in sharpener and twist up mechanism make these eyeliners a breeze to use, and I definitely will reach for them over a charcoal liner.

Another weekend gone in a blink! This week my calendar is filled with Halloween related activities with my Little Loves and Big Love which is so much fun, but also a reminder of how quickly this fall is flying by! Do you have any fun Halloween plans? Do you dress up? I am trying to decide if I will dress up this year, and those adult-sized onesie costumes are looking more and more appealing for my Netflix-and-Wine mom lifestyle.

I am a huge fan of adding layers to take clothes tossed on the body into an outfit, and one of my favorite ways to do this is by wearing open-front cardigans. I use “The Rule of Threes” which means that a shirt and pants is just that but if you add an amazing scarf, pair of shoes, or jacket it becomes an outfit. Well, this past week I was browsing greeting cards at the local Walmart and saw this Time and Tru Double Knit Cardigan that I MUST share with you!

 

I couldn’t believe how classic this cardigan looked and then when I went closer I couldn’t believe how high-quality the fabric looked and felt. It’s a cotton, acrylic, and polyester blend but it truly minics a sweater with some wool in it. The two-tone look of it elevates it in a way that makes it look more luxurious and high-end. It fits beautifully (I purchased a size small and it’s true-to size for me) with a slightly relaxed fit and a duster sweater length. I like that I can roll up the sleeves, push up the sleeves, or wear the sleeves at full length. This sweater cardigan can be machine washed on the wool/delicate cycle and can be tumble dried, though I will hang it to dry as I do with all of my sweaters. Also, it is $19.96! AMAZING!

I am BEYOND impressed with this and plan to grab it in gray, too!

I hope your Monday is off to a wonderful start!  I have shared my outfits from Nadine West before on my blog (read the posts here) I have been wearing some items from my last several boxes a lot lately, so I was so excited to receive a new box in the mail from them.  Nadine West sent me this box for my consideration for review but I was not paid to write this post and as always all opinions are my own.

 

 

 

What is Nadine West?

NadineWest.com is a company that sends you an outfit to try on and you keep only what you love. The outfit is a surprise, but you take a style quiz and the stylists get to know your style more each month. The outfits are affordable with pieces costing about $10-$30 each, which is very affordable compared to other similar services.

How Does It Work?

On the Nadine West website, you take the style quiz so that the stylist can get to know what you are looking for in an outfit. You will receive a pink package in the mail with your personalized outfit. Try on the outfit and keep what you love and send back what you don’t.

My Thoughts

The style quiz was super easy to do, which was great because I wanted something that didn’t take too much time but I was still able to make notes to make sure the stylist knew my preferences. I really loved the surprise aspect of this, and it was like opening up a girly gift from a really stylish friend. I cannot stand having to return things, it is such a bummer, but I LOVE the way this company does it because your outfit comes with return shipping.

What Did I Get?

Did I Keep It?

I absolutely LOVE the jogger pants and wore them immediately and then washed them so I could wear them again. I also absolutely love the sweater and think it will be perfect as we head into the holiday season. I do not really care for the dress style hoodie, but I will pass it on to a friend. I like the gold necklace, and it has enough weight to it so that it doesn’t feel cheap at all. I don’t care for either pairs of earrings or the bracelets, BUT I will be doing a GIVEAWAY! Final Thoughts

I love getting my Nadine West box each month! Each month I get a few things that I love, but I do wish that there was a simple form to update style preferences or check-in each month to see what I’d like to find in my box. I really loved this box and hope that I will continue to get neutral pieces that fit my style and delicate jewelry that works with my sense of style.
