So, have you started shopping for the holidays yet? Jord means soil, dirt, earth, and ground in Swedish, and that name is fitting for these wooden watches with original designs and refined aesthetic. If you head to JORD’s Instagram you will see gorgeous watches styled both for work and play. Have you ever thought that the man in your life has plenty of ties, wallets, polo shirts, or bottles of cologne? Me too! Actually, my husband, Stephan, even has several watches, but he had never had anything like a JORD wood watch.

Our Picks

My husband, Stephan, loved the look of the “HYDE” style with 100% natural hand-finished wood and sapphire crystal glass. Using the JORD Measuring Instructions we were able to easily measure Stephan’s wrist to ensure a proper fit. This watch retails for $219.

I opted for the “CASSIA” style which features an ultra slim band with interlaced wood and metal links and is now my absolute favorite watch from JORD and one that I have in mind for a few ladies on my Christmas shopping list. The “CASSIA” style retails for $199.

I hope that you had a relaxing weekend : )

When I travel for an overnight trip, depending on the occasion, I typically don’t pack a lot of jewelry, but for longer trips, I like to have options depending on my mood and wardrobe, so I love having jewelry rolls to safely pack in in my suitcase.

My mom got me a McKenna Leather Travel Jewelry Portfolio from Pottery Barn shortly before my wedding, and I use that for most of my trips because it is slim, very functional, and has remained in fantastic condition for years. I also have a red jewelry roll from Gorjana Griffin that I received in a Pop Sugar Must Have Box years ago use as well, depending on the jewelry I am packing, because it is set up differently with more pockets than the Pottery Barn jewelry roll.

I hope that you are having a great week! Subscription boxes are still hugely popular, and I have been noticing clothing subscription services gaining a lot more traction. Nadine West reached out to me and sent me this box for my consideration for review but I was not paid to write this post and as always all opinions are my own.

What is Nadine West?

NadineWest.com is a company that sends you an outfit to try on and you keep only what you love. The outfit is a surprise, but you take a style quiz and the stylists get to know your style more each month. The outfits are affordable with pieces costing about $10-$30 each, which is very affordable compared to other similar services.

How Does It Work?

On the Nadine West website, you take the style quiz so that the stylist can get to know what you are looking for in an outfit. You will receive a pink package in the mail with your personalized outfit. Try on the outfit and keep what you love and send back what you don’t.

My Thoughts

The style quiz was super easy to do, which was great because I wanted something that didn’t take too much time but I was still able to make notes to make sure the stylist knew my preferences. I really loved the surprise aspect of this, and it was like opening up a girly gift from a really stylish friend. I cannot stand having to return things, it is such a bummer, but I LOVE the way this company does it because your outfit comes with return shipping.

Did I keep it?

YES! I absolutely love that sherbert orange color, and the pearl studs are very much my style. I would not have picked the floral skirt out for myself, but I ended up really liking the way it looked on, but now I will have to remind myself to wear it! The bracelet works really well with a lot of the bracelets I like to wear stacked together like my Alex & Ani, so it will likely get a lot of wear.

It is now officially spring, but in many areas that means it could be cold and raining (or here even snowing!) one day, and warm and sunny the next. I want to share an outfit idea that helps transition your wardrobe from the cooler winter months into wacky spring. JORD Watches caught my eye on Instagram because they are incredibly stylish, but also very unique. I was curious about the name and found out that Jord actually means soil, earth, dirt, and ground in Swedish. My husband has a watch from JORD that I reviewed here and I was so excited to finally try one for myself. JORD makes luxury wood watches for both men and women.

MY SPRING STYLE

I enjoy easy pieces that I can dress up or down and work for the many occasions I find myself in as a wife, mother, professional, and expert chocolate and champagne taste-tester 😉

This outfit was made up of mostly very affordable, classic pieces from Target, Forever 21, J. Crew, a local boutique, and my JORD wood watch.

The pants are from J. Crew and an investment piece that I love because they are a bit dressier than jeans, and a wardrobe staple for me. I love that they look amazing in the winter months with boots, but transition into spring when I change out the boots for a slip on espridrille sneaker. The shirt is from Target and is comfortable, flowy, and although it has longer sleeves the material is light and perfect for spring. The shoes were a steal of a deal from Forever 21 and look adorable with everything from jeans on a play-date at the park to a dress at brunch. I love that my JORD watch is unique which makes it a statement piece and that along with my felt hat leave little need for fussy accessories or dramatic makeup. I love pieces that play double-duty and work as jewelry and a functional timepiece, and I think that this JORD watch does that well. JORD watches use Swiss Movement and I love the contrast of the beautiful handcrafted wood band with the modern face, the perfect accessory for a wardrobe that is ready for a beautiful spring!

I loved the look of the “Frankie” style in Zebra Wood & Navy. Using the JORD Measuring Instructions I was able to easily measure my wrist to ensure a proper fit. This watch retails for $189.

The watch comes in a beautiful wood box that my husband loves because it is great for a decor piece on our dresser and he uses the drawer in the front to store cuff links and tie clips and that makes me happy because it’s opened up space in my jewelry storage ; )

The watch is so stunning in person! I was thrilled that it fit my husband perfectly. He loves that it is super light weight and gives him a no-fuss style that can go from a casual weekend look to a dressier look. FALL FASHION POST! HOW TO LOOK GOOD, BE COMFORTABLE, AND NOT BREAK THE BANK!

We are starting to slowly but surely starting to get chillier days here in the midwest, and that means that I’ve started wearing some of my favorite fall pieces again. I love clothes and I love fashion, but I’m also very realistic about my fashion choices because I am a mom of little kids and whatever I wear on a daily basis needs to withstand a lot! I need a wardrobe that is fashionable, affordable, and comfortable *without* looking frumpy! Whether you’re a mom like me who needs clothes that can go from the store to the park and maybe, just maybe, out to eat, or you’re just settling into your career and you haven’t quite made it to your dream clothing budget I want to share my favorite places to buy clothes!

HOW I SHOP:

I like to have a mix of high quality never-go-out-of-style pieces and trendy pieces. My style is classic and I love girly details. I like to throw in more trendy and edgy pieces that I’m drawn to, but I don’t wear every trend that comes down the runway. I often mix and match high end things, and very budget friendly things. I think that if you truly only buy pieces that you LOVE, you can make a $20 pair of boots look like a $200 pair and you can feel like a million dollars without going into debt. I try to buy things that are easy to wash at home and that I am comfortable wearing, but I definitely like dressier things for the rare occasions that I do get to go all-out. And, I would always rather be slightly “overdressed” than underdressed.

Hailey, our oldest, keeps us busy with soccer, cheerleading, and dance.
