I am going on a low-buy / no-buy in 2023. If you’d like to hear more about that stay tuned! With my no-buy in mind, I want to share my top 3 purchases of 2023.

Vegan Leather Straight Leg Pants I own these in a pinky brown and in cream and I LOVE them. They’re comfortable, often the source of compliments, and a nice way to get out of a jean rut.

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum This is pricy, but one bottle lasted me about 9 months using it every other night (alternating with my tretinoin) and it has made the most noticeable difference in my skin. If you’re around my age (35) I suggests this or a similar AHA.

New Balance Sneaker I wear these with sweatpants, trousers, jeans, leggings, and dresses. The absolute best and so comfortable.

I am not a huge legging girl. Don’t click out. I do love them, but I usually wear jeans or trousers, HOWEVER, this fall I snagged a couple of really precious legging-friendly pieces that look a bit more elevated and stylish than the typically zip-up with legging combo [though that is iconic, isn’t it?] I share my outfits every day on my Instagram.

Nike Air Force 1 07s – These are iconic, and classic, and go with so many things! I wear them with leggings, jeans, dresses, and trousers!

Asymmetrical Snap-Up Fleece – This is SO comfy and the vegan leather makes it seem much nicer than if it was just a plain fleece. Because of the vegan leather, I plan to baby this when I launder it and do so by hand and when possible just Fabreze it 😉 I try to do this with sweaters to extend the life of the garment (but don’t worry, not if I am sweating or stinky!) I SIZED UP one so that this was legging-friendly, if you’re shorter you may not need to size up but at 5’7 I needed the medium to get it to completely cover my bum.

Point Split Hem Flare Pant – Call them what you want, in my mind are super thick nice elevated flared leggings, or as we called them in college, yoga pants.

Winter Boots From Walmart?! | Time and Tru Winter Boots Review

You will not believe the Time and Tru winter boots I found at Walmart! Last year I finally purchased a nice pair of Sorel Explorer Carnival II Boots and I wore them every day from November until May (that’s Northern MI for ya). When we packed up our home and made a large move this summer, a lot of things ended up in our storage unit and it’s packed so tight that nothing is coming out until we buy a home because it’s a literal hazard to try to get it out. I knew I needed something for this winter, but didn’t feel comfortable spending a lot since I know that I have a beautiful pair in storage. I was grabbing a few items for grocery pick-up last weekend and found these Time and Tru winter boots and I have to share them with you.

As a mom, you have to go from soccer camp to a meeting to (if you’re lucky) girls’ night and back home to make dinner and it can be hard to look pulled together since all of these things require a different wardrobe. Today I want to share my best tips for looking like I have it together as a mom, even when I don’t.

Create a Capsule Wardrobe

I started dressing in neutrals several years ago, and have been working overtime to be more conscious about what I’m buying. I began by grabbing things from Target and H&M, places I still love especially for basics, and now try to buy investment pieces as sustainably as possible. Having a capsule wardrobe means almost everything I have matches.

Plan Your Outfit the Night Before

I know, you’ve heard this before but it’s a GAMECHANGER! Each evening I think about what I’ll be doing the next day, what the weather is, and set out all of the clothes the night before. And I mean everything, including undergarments and socks. If I’m running I set out my running gear, and whatever outfit I’ll wear. If I need to change midday, I’ll grab those items too.

Add a “Third Piece”

A shirt and jeans are clothes, but toss on a hat or a great blazer and you’ve got an outfit.

We moved…saying goodbye to our house

Yesterday we said goodbye to our first house. The house where we brought all of our kids home. The house where our kids grew up. The house where we grew up. We bought it straight out of college, and now 11 1/2 years later, we say goodbye. Our starter home, that we’ve finally outgrown. Home doesn’t stay with the house, it goes with the people in it. But goodness we’ll miss it.

My Go-To Lip Combo | Spring 2022 Lip Trends

Lip gloss was all the rage when I was a teen in the early aughts. M.A.C Lip Glass and Bonnie Bell Lip Burst, anyone? And now, for Spring 2022 lip gloss is back in a big way. Today I want to share my favorite, easy-to-wear, lip combo and my two favorite drugstore lip glosses.

Spring 2022 Lip Trends

I begin by lining my lips with a nudey pink lipliner, I like Lawless Forget the Filler Definer Liner or NYX Peekaboo. I ever so slightly overline the middle but not the edges. I then lightly fill my lips in with the liner. I put a gloss in the center of my lips. My current favorite gloss is the NYX Filler Instinct in Brunch Drunk. I also love the Maybelline Lifter Gloss in Reef.

Sí Passion Perfume by Giorgio Armani | Review

I have talked before about my signature scent and that is still my everyday scent. I have purchased it seven (7!) times. For special occasions, particularly evenings where I want a sexier scent I wear Sí by Giorgio Armani but for my birthday I decided to try something new and I picked up Sí Passion by Giorgio Armani.

Sí Passion Perfume by Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani is a luxury brand and the perfume price point is high, especially because I don’t wear it on a daily basis. I typically don’t like travel perfumes because they are a rollerball which I don’t care or (anyone else feel like you NEED the spray?!) but the Giorgio Armani Sí perfumes have a spray! AND the $30 lasts me or a long time since it’s a special scent for me.

I LOVE this scent. It’s sexy to me, it has over 9K 5 STAR REVIEWS on Ulta. And, men love it. This may or may not matter to you, but there it is. And women do, too. I feel special when I wear this.

The website describes this as fruity, but I don’t feel that way. I don’t gravitate towards fruity, but I think that the floral and woodsy elements balance it out for me. Giorgio Armani’s own words are “an irresistible combination of grace, strength, and independence of spirit.”

I have been on the hunt for a brow product that gives me gorgeous, full, fluffy brows and finally have found something that gives me the results I’ve been after.

I use this by brushing my inner brows up and then using the tip to get the arch defined in the way that I like. I use a plain spooli brush to fluff and get in the position I want without adding more product after applying this. My brows last all day long and it’s fast and easy to use.

The Best Drugstore Mascara | 2021

I was looking for a new drugstore (to me) mascara to try, and I found an article where Kim Kardashian said that the L’Oreal Voluminous mascara was her favorite. I tried it and had to share this super short and sweet post to tell you that you NEED this mascara.

L’Oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara

This mascara volumizes and separates, and it is a nice and wet mascara, which I really enjoy and find helps to avoid flakey application, but do be careful when applying so you don’t get it on your skin (*Tip: If you do, just wait until it is dry and use a Q-Tip to dab it).
