The weather is changing (we officially have sticking snow here in Michigan) and to me, that is a signal that its time to add moisture to my skin. I love masking and share face masks reviews.

Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask | The Super Hydrating Mask

The Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask is a water-based sheet mask contains Hyaluronic Acid, which is an ingredient that is naturally found in the skin and is a popular ingredient used to add moisture back to the skin. This mask also contains pomegranate extract to give lots of hydration. This mask provides 24-hour long-lasting hydration and helps prevent moisture loss throughout the day.

My Thoughts

I love this mask! Like with most masks, I notice that my skin looks very even and bright after, but this mask is more than that. When I use this mask my skin feels incredibly moisturized and it lasts. I did this mask in the evening and woke up to skin that felt so much softer and less dry. I noticed so much of a difference that I even switched up the foundation I had been using because I wasn’t worried about dry patches on my cheeks. I will continue using this mask and think it’s a great one for a stocking stuffer!

Turban Knot Headband | How-To Wear It

A trend that I’ve seen on the pages of Harper’s Bazaar, on the runways, and (the most relatable and attainable of them all) on the tables of my local Target.

How-To Wear Turban Headbands

The turban-style headband or turband (get it?) reminds me of the 1960’s images of Elizabeth Taylor in the 1960s. I opted to pick a neutral camel colored velvet headband to ease myself into the style, but I had so much fun and felt so chic in this, I’d like to add a few more of the gorgeous jewel tone styles to my fall and winter wardrobe. I would suggest starting with a smaller knot, like the one in my photo, and a neutral color. I received a lot of compliments, and it is a great “third piece” to add to any outfit.

Why I Love Turban Headbands

Because I prefer to dress in a “capsule” wardrobe (if you’d like me to do a post on my capsule wardrobe let me know in the comments) I appreciate on-trend pieces like a headband that I can add to the staples I reach for daily. I love that this style is accessible to everyone without a big investment, with headbands starting at less than $10 each.

Have you ever wondered how a clothing subscription box works? Nadine West offers an affordable style subscription service.

I have shared my outfits from Nadine West for well over a year now on my blog (read the posts here). Nadine West sent me this box for my consideration for review but I was not paid to write this post and as always all opinions are my own.

What is Nadine West?

NadineWest.com is a company that sends you an outfit to try on and you keep only what you love. The outfit is a surprise, but you take a style quiz and the stylists get to know your style more each month. The outfits are affordable with pieces costing about $10-$30 each, which is very affordable compared to other similar services.

How Does Nadine West Work? 

On the Nadine West website, you take the style quiz so that the stylist can get to know what you are looking for in an outfit. You will receive a pink package in the mail with your personalized outfit. Try on the outfit and keep what you love and send back what you don’t.

My Thoughts On Nadine West 

The style quiz was super easy to do, which was great because I wanted something that didn’t take too much time but I was still able to make notes to make sure the stylist knew my preferences. I really loved the surprise aspect of this, and it was like opening up a girly gift from a really stylish friend. I cannot stand having to return things, it is such a bummer, but I LOVE the way this company does it because your outfit comes with return shipping.

Nadine West Unboxing

This was a month where I did receive quite a few pieces that I didn’t like, but thankfully Nadine West has a good return process and policy. I am picky about jewelry, I really only like delicate pieces and stud earrings. I also like solid, neutral colors. I only got three pieces that I chose to keep, but they’re GREAT pieces. I am in love with the navy blouse that I got, it has three fabric colored buttons in the front and a white tie at the neck. I love this because for work events or meetings I like to dress “Snappy Casual” as we said in my sorority days, or smart casual as it’s more commonly known to the masses. I also received a pair of wide leg culotte pants that have a ruched high waist that is really flattering, and of course I would be amiss if I didn’t rave about the fact that THEY HAVE POCKETS! They hit me right at the widest part of my calf, and because of this I think they look best with a heel. I like these because they’re another great neutral I can dress up or down. The third item is an extremely fitted gray shirt, and it’s the type of shirt that is almost too tight, but for some reason this one is stretchy enough that it’s comfortable and I think it’ll be wonderful this fall and winter under cardigans and sweaters when I really want to layer up.

Nadine West Final Thoughts

I love getting my Nadine West box each month! Most months I get a few things that I love, but I do wish that there was a simple form to update style preferences or check-in each month to see what I’d like to find in my box. I hope that I will continue to get neutral pieces that fit my style and delicate jewelry that works with my sense of style. I would love to see some simple, neutral-colored maxi dresses for spring, too. I would rather receive two or three nicer items than a lot of pieces that aren’t as nice of quality.

My Thoughts

I love that this formula is a gel but it is also moisturizing. I’ve heard that this Hydro Boost is great for dry skin, but I have combo/oily skin and have found it to work very well for me. I like to wear a moisturizer with S.P.F during the day. I have even used this during the day with a facial sunscreen over it. I find this to be very refreshing and like this using it especially when I feel that I’m dealing with breakouts because it doesn’t feel heavy. I bought a small sample size of this because it is a bit pricy for a drugstore brand skincare line, but now I know that it will be well worth my investment. I also still love the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Masks.

Why I Love ROC Daily Resurfacing Disks

I was heading with my family on vacation for a week and I didn’t want to pack a messy facial cleanser (yep, it’s the truth! I know there are ways, and I’ve done them, but I wanted simple for this trip) and so I packed a jar of my ROC Daily Resurfacing Disks that I had been gifted by my mother-in-law. Nadine West Unboxing

This is my favorite Nadine West box EVER! I got a few things I didn’t like, but I got a beautiful off-the-shoulder white top with black stripes, which I love because I am a neutral girl! I do not like cold-shoulder tops anymore, but I do love off-the-shoulder. I was pleasantly surprised with the plaid shirt the buttons in the back and has ruffles because I love it on! I think it will be super cute for work conferences and am happy I got it. The striped high-neck tank I wasn’t wowed by but ended up loving it on. And this black dress?! It is stunning! I can’t believe it! I wouldn’t have picked it out, but now I want an excuse to wear it.

Products that I have been using for years, my old standbys, often don’t get enough love on here. I curl my hair multiple times a week, and certainly always for special occasions, and my go-to curling tools are my Nume Wands. I purchased two wands and one straightener from Nume years ago, and so when Nume reached out about a collaboration I was elated! I did receive the Nume OctoWand in exchange for my consideration for review, but as always all opinions are my own.

Nume OctoWand

The Nume OctoWand is an interchangeable curling iron. This set features eight 100 percent tourmaline ceramic barrels which create curls that last and have a great shine. The OctoWand has infrared heat and negative ions, the Nume OctoWand curler eliminates frizz and locks in moisture with each use. This 8-in-1 NuMe product includes the 13mm, 19mm, 25mm, 32mm, Pearl, Reverse, 19mm Cone, and 25mm Cone barrels and base, as well as a heat-resistant styling glove and convenient travel case.

My OctoWand Review

I love all the options! The wand features heat adjustments and an on and off switch. I love that I can see the temperature on the digital screen. I did accidentally turn the wand off a few time with my hand while I was using it, but with some practice, I haven’t had the issue. One thing to keep in mind is that you could switch the wands to do two different styles but the wands are extremely hot, so it isn’t easy to switch them quickly. I have had so much fun experimenting with the different wands and have used it for my daughter for dance. If you want options, this is the way to go!

Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara Review

In the summer one of my go-to looks is “no-makeup makeup” with bare eyelids but big lashes. I got a deluxe size sample of the new Too Faced Damn Girl and want to share my thoughts with you today.

About the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara

This mascara is being compared to the Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced which is an OG in the beauty community and is still extremely popular. Jared Blandino, the cofounder of Too Faced Cosmetics, said that the Damn Girl mascara is made with two unique pigments (one an opaque, creamy black, the other a sheer, glossy texture) that combine to create a super dark result and the melting waxes that fuse together to make it easier to layer.

My Thoughts

I do like Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced, but it isn’t my favorite mascara. I also think that the L’Oreal Lash Paradise is a good enough dupe for the Better Than Sex that I buy it instead. I heard that a lot of people think, “Damn Girl this wand is TOO big” when they look at the Damn Girl wand, but because I have large eyes and long lashes, I don’t personally have this issue. I LOVE that this doesn’t clump and holds a curl for me all day. The Damn Girl mascara gave me great length, so much so that my lashes touched my skin and I had a little smudge, so I am anxious for when they release the waterproof version. All in all, yes I like this mascara but it isn’t changing my world. My “holy grail” mascara for when I want intense lashes is still the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Volume 2.
