My go-to pool cover is affordable and always makes me feel pulled together and good whether I am at the beach, at the pool, or out on the lake. I wear a pair of shorts and a long button-down top. My button-down is years old at this point from Walmart. It’s perfect. It’s sheer, it’s long, and it gives me coverage. I also have an old one from H&M. I kept running into situations where I needed an elevated white sneakers. I recently purchased the Frye Low-Lace White Leather Sneaker as my Mother’ Day Gift and I have reached for them so many times already.

Pictures do not do these shoes justice. The leather is pebbled, gorgeous, and incredibly soft. The inside of the shoe is nicely cushioned and I love that it’s a brown color so that it doesn’t get dirty from bare feet or sunless tanner. I have tied the laces and tucked them under the insert so that I can easily slip them on and off. These look great with shorts or a dress, and I love that they’re not clunky and are a bit more elevated.

My No Buy/Low Buy Update

Hi there! Happy Monday!

We are halfway through 2023 already, and it’s time for me to update on my no buy/low buy for 2023.

I have so far followed all of my rules, but I have definitely pushed it a little bit. For example, I asked my mom for clothing and shoes for my birthday, and I had a few gift cards, and when I used those I would pay the difference and allow that. For example, I had a $50 gift card but spent $70. I also bought myself a Mother’s Day Gift that I picked which is what I told my husband I wanted.

Shopping Triggers

Shopping definitely gives a little happy boost, and fashion is my weakness. I notice that I want to shop when I’m really stressed, or sad, and sometimes just when I see a great piece that I think will be impactful in my closest.

What I’ve Learned

While I haven’t been perfect, the no buy / low buy has stopped me from buying things right away and made me pause. And a lot of times the “must have it” feeling will fade. Having to be creative with gifts and gift cards has also ensured I really research what I want. It helps me to save a web browser and I can always go back to the item later. It also helps me to organize what I do have, for example organizing my shorts or all of my hats. I also like putting together outfits from my closet instead of seeing a new item and putting an outfit together in my head with the new item.

Denim On Denim 2023 | In Style 2023 Trend

I am a big fan of denim on denim, and it wasn’t gone that long but now it’s back in a big way for 2023. I love any monochrome, tone-on-tone, dressing, and denim on denim is a fun look. Some people are worried that they’ll look like they’re rocking a “Canadian tuxedo” or be imitating Brit and Justin circa 2001 (IYKYK), but if you give it a chance it can be an easy, pulled-together look.

I styled my Abercrombie 80’s Mom Jeans with an old denim (chambray) shirt worn open (similar one linked here) and wore a green-gray neutral tank (similar).

My Thoughts

I use this after cleansing and toning my face and after I apply this I apply either my moisturizer or my vitamin C, depending on the day (I alternate certain skincare items). I love this product and my skin looks just as good as when I was using a more expensive version. I will continue to use this product.

Coolest Addidas Sneaker 2023 | Adidas Ozweego

In late 2022 I got a pair of green Adidas Track Pants and decided that I should have a pair of Adidas sneakers. I read a ton of reviews and decided that I wanted a pair of Adidas Ozweego sneakers. These are the coolest Adidas sneakers.

I ended up getting these in one of my favorite shades of green, a sage color that is totally neutral to me. And the sage Ozweego Sneakers are on major sale! I have worn these snappy casual with a blazer, and very casual with a T-shirt and jeans. These are a bit of a clunky and wide shoe, but not so much that they overtake the rest of your outfit. They’re incredibly comfortable! I did size down 1/2 a size because I have quite narrow feet and these are wide.

What are your favorite casual sneakers? I reach for my New Balance 574s, Nike Air Force Ones, and now my Adidas Ozweegos quite often, especially now that there is no snow but it isn’t always sandal weather.

My Birthday Outfit 2023

Today I will be sharing my birthday outfit from a night out with my Little. Yesterday this blog turned 9. I am proud of myself for remaining consistent with this project, and while it isn’t something I am working actively to grow anymore, I love that it helps me to flex my writing muscles weekly, and it has opened doors for me with video work, published articles, and social media jobs.
