Hi there, Happy Monday!

I have talked a lot the past couple of years about how I wear very minimal makeup [for me, anyway, it’s all relative isn’t it?] especially compared to the 2016 heyday when I knew every palette release and bought an entire line of lipsticks. Today I want to share the products I’m really wearing on a day-to-day basis and apply in about 10 minutes flat at 6 a.m before the kids are at my heels.

I have shared my outfits from Nadine West for three years now on my blog (read the posts here). Nadine West sent me this box for my consideration for review but I was not paid to write this post and as always all opinions are my own.

What is Nadine West?

NadineWest.com is a company that sends you an outfit to try on and you keep only what you love. The outfit is a surprise, but you take a style quiz and the stylists get to know your style more each month. The outfits are affordable with pieces costing about $10-$30 each, which is very affordable compared to other similar services.

How Does Nadine West Work?

On the Nadine West website, you take the style quiz so that the stylist can get to know what you are looking for in an outfit. You will receive a pink package in the mail with your personalized outfit. Try on the outfit and keep what you love and send back what you don’t.

My Thoughts On Nadine West

The style quiz was super easy to do, which was great because I wanted something that didn’t take too much time but I was still able to make notes to make sure the stylist knew my preferences. I really loved the surprise aspect of this, and it was like opening up a girly gift from a really stylish friend. I cannot stand having to return things, it is such a bummer, but I LOVE the way this company does it because your outfit comes with return shipping.

I am a runner. I am also a wife, mom, and full-time entrepreneur [ freelance social media marketing] so I have to run when I can. And a lot of times that means random runs when I still have a full day ahead of me or squeezed in runs after lunch when I have a call or a soccer game later, but no time to shower. So, today I want to share my thoughts on Shower Pill Hustle Clean Body Wipes.

I have a giant pack of Assurance Disposable Washcloths (typically used for elderly people, or folks with a medical need)at home which I like because they’re cheap and get the job done, but on the go, they aren’t practical.

When I ran my marathon I bought a ton of stuff to have in our car “just in case” and these wipes were one of those items. They are about $1 per wipe, so not super cheap, but if you sometimes don’t have time to shower after the gym on your lunch break or before a drink with the girls, these are well worth it. Have a few on hand in the car and in your bag.

My Thoughts

I have sensitive teeth, and whenever I use a whitening product I brush my teeth with this sensitive toothpaste. The first time I used the Whitestrips for 1 hour followed immediately by 5 minutes with the LED light my teeth hurt the following day. I waited two days before trying again and then continued to whiten with the Whitestrips for 1 hour followed by 5 minutes with the LED light with no issues and no more pain. My teeth were noticeably white after one use, and significantly whiter still after only 3 uses (one-week total time). I think this kit is pricy, but it works.

The easiest makeup hack | Concealer GAME-CHANGER

I don’t know about you, but one thing that I’ve been rocking since the pandemic is less makeup. A lot less. But I always wear concealer, at least under my eyes. I wear foundation probably four times a year, max (2016 me wouldn’t believe this fact!) but concealer is always part of my makeup game.

You know when you’re have swirled the wand as much as possible, and even though there is still product in the tube, you can’t get it out? I’ve figured out a work-around that ensures you’ve used every last bit of product. Not only is this friendly to your wallet, but it’s all-around less wasteful. I have zero shame in this, and I’ll cut open skincare to make sure I’ve scrapped every bit of lotion or eye cream out of the tube.

Concealer GAME-CHANGER Makeup Hack

All you need is a pair of needle nose pliers (ask your dad or husband before “borrowing” them if you’re a tad more considerate than I was…). If you look at your concealer tube once you’ve taken the top off, the part that the top twists into (swirl shape where it twists) has a thin (usually clear) plastic piece that you can use needle nose pliers to remove. Remove it and be AMAZED! So.Much.Product is left and easily can be use!

Why I Only Wear Neutrals

I wear neutrals almost exclusively. White, black, beige, gray, navy, denim, and I also consider blush and olive in the neutral category. I do not wear patterns or florals, but I do wear stripes, leopard print, plaid (buffalo check and gingham), and the occasional polka dot. But, why? Do I hate all colors? No, not at all…let me explain.

Why I Only Wear Neutrals

I love clothes, and if you could hear me in a store? “Cute. Cute. Cute! That’s cute”. But I hated not haven’t a definite style. In high school I wore the typical Abercrombie, Hollister, and American Eagle garb that was popular amongst high schoolers at the time. In college my wardrobe bounced around a lot, until I got a job at Abercrombie where we wore “core colors”. I LOVED it. What do I wear today? Navy, gray, or white. In my mid-twenties, now no longer working for Abercrombie, I bounced around and just bought whatever I thought was “cute” but didn’t really know what my style was. It was then that I decided to start figuring out more clearly what I liked, what I wanted my style to say to the world, and how to build a capsule wardrobe.

I went through my closet and pulled out anything I could sell or donate. I still do this every few months.

I now only buy neutral colors and it is a GAME CHANGER.

Why I Love Neutrals

Versatile
Timeless
Looks high-end (especially black. Black faux leather, black blazers even if inexpensive, look luxe)
You can invest (I haven’t done a lot of this yet, but if I spend $$$ on a classic piece that I’ll have forever that’s way better than on something trendy or that I won’t like in 2 years)
It’s so much easier to shop. I get to ignore 75% of every store or clothing section.
You can repeat and mix-and-match outfits easily (Once you get pictures in a floral dress, it’s far harder to repeat, no?)

This wasn’t a super exciting month, HOWEVER, the items I got are items I will reach for often. The joggers are buttery soft and they have already been worn several times. I love that they can be dressed up a bit or dressed down. I will most likely wear these casually, and right now they’ll get a lot of wear as we are still quarantining here. I received a gray shirt that isn’t particularly exciting, but it fits well and can be knotted or tucked easily. My favorite item this month was the black blouse with the lace sleeve details and buttons. I also got a pair of star gold-toned stud earrings that are a pretty, delicate style.

I love getting my Nadine West box each month! Most months I get a few things that I love, but I do wish that there was a simple form to update style preferences or check-in each month to see what I’d like to find in my box. I hope that I will continue to get neutral pieces that fit my style and delicate jewelry that works with my sense of style. I would love to see some simple, neutral-colored maxi dresses for spring, too. I would rather receive two or three nicer items than a lot of pieces that aren’t as nice of quality.

LUMIFY Redness Relief Eye Drops Review | Are they better than other redness drops?

I never suffered from red eyes terribly, but a few years ago I started using redness relief eye drops before special events or pictures to make the whites of my eyes POP. So, when I saw LUMIFY ads interrupting episode after episode of my Netflix-Binge nights, I decided to give it a try when I saw it on sale at my local drugstore.

LUMIFY Redness Relief Eye Drops

LUMIFY starts working in 60 seconds and lasts up to 8 hours. Lumify contains no bleach or dyes and is an FDA approved formulation. LUMIFY works by selectively targeting redness, alleviating some of the risks associated with other redness relievers, including rebound
redness, and loss of efficacy over time.

My Thoughts

I love how well this works! The difference, even on days when I don’t think my eyes look “that bad” is astounding. My mom tried is, and she is now hooked as well. I do not wear glasses or contacts and my mother wears glasses. I find that this works better than regular redness-reducing drops and definitely lasts way longer. I do not use these every day, but I use them whenever I have an event, meeting, know that I’ll have my picture taken, or when I look extra tired. I will definitely continue to purchase and use LUMIFY Redness Relief Eye Drops. I think that these are worth the few extra dollars over other redness relief drops because of the longer-lasting results and the whites of the eye are brighter with these than traditional redness relief drops like Visine.
