OGX Nourishing Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist | Review

December 16, 2019 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

As I’ve been getting ready for various events this holiday season (but no office party, entrepreneur probz) I thought that one product I reach for nearly every time I style my hair, deserved its own blog post: OGX Nourishing Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist.

OGX Nourishing Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist

Described on a website of a blend of lightweight coconut oil to nourish strands along with hydrating bamboo extract for softer hair. An infusion of lightweight coconut oil to nourish strands along with hydrating bamboo extract that adds shine and touchable softness

Directions For Use

Apply OGX Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist generously to clean towel-dried hair and style as desired. It can also be applied to dry hair to tame fly-a-ways and add shine throughout your day.

My Thoughts

I use the OGX Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist is a very simple way, so without any fluff, here is it: I spray this on dry hair at the lower 1/3 of my hair, focusing on the ends. I love this product because it takes any split ends or dry ends and makes them look so much better after curling. It completely hides dry ends, and it is the must-do finishing touch for me. I do like the added shine, but I am careful to only use a bit so that my hair doesn’t appear oily.

HOW-TO KEEP LONG AND COLOR TREATED HAIR HEALTHY

May 17, 2017 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Wednesday!

I have very long and color treated hair, and I get a lot of questions about how I keep my hair healthy, so today I want to share a few simple tips with you.

Don’t Wash Your Hair Every Day

This was a hard one for me years ago, but now I wash every other day or every couple of days. If you get greasy in the roots, or if you are an every single day hair washer, it can take time to get yourself AND your hair trained to skip a day, but it *will* even out! Skipping a day or two between shampooing will actually slow down the oil production and leave you with  healthier hair.

Befriend the Braid, Messy Bun, or Top Knot

I like to wear my hair in a braid or bun when I want to give my hair a day off from heat styling, or if I’m in a rush. I have been LOVING wearing my hair in a french crown braid that is perfect for summer and the gym! I got a lot of requests on Snapchat (@LeahTackles), which surprised me because it takes less than 5 minutes and isn’t fancy, but I ended up filming a talk-through style tutorial so you can copy the look.

Damage Remedy+ Coconut Miracle Oil OGX Shampoo Review

March 20, 2017 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday! And HAPPY SPRING!

A couple of weeks ago I shared my all-time favorite heat protectant to use before heat styling (read it here), which just happens to be a drugstore product, and I thought I would continue my Leah Tackles Hair series with another drugstore item that is new to my rotation, but is so far holding its own.

Damage Remedy + Coconut Miracle Oil OGX Shampoo

Why I Love It

First of all, I’ll admit that the packaging was very enticing to me and once I smelled it I immediately tossed this coconut scented shampoo into my shopping cart. This shampoo has a blend of coconut oil, tiare and vanilla bean extracts to help give hydration to my color treated and heat styled hair.

My Routine

I always go at least every other day, and sometimes I go two days before washing my hair and so I  usually end up washing my hair three times per week. I use this twice per week and a purple shampoo for blondes on the third washing day each week.
