GARNIER SKINACTIVE MOISTURE BOMB SHEET MASK | The Super-Hydrating Mask Anti-Fatigue

November 25, 2019 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

A couple of weeks ago I posted a review of another Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask and I had to share another today because it is my new favorite!

Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask | The Super-Hydrating Mask Anti-Fatigue

The Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask is a water-based sheet mask contains Hyaluronic Acid, which is an ingredient that is naturally found in the skin and is a popular ingredient used to add moisture back to the skin. This mask also contains pomegranate extract to give lots of hydration. This mask provides 24-hour long-lasting hydration and helps prevent moisture loss throughout the day. Free of mineral oil and parabens, this non-greasy formula with lavender essential oil, revitalizes skin and reduces signs of fatigue.

My Thoughts

I love this mask! Like with most masks, I notice that my skin looks very even and bright after, but this mask is more than that. When I use this mask my skin feels incredibly moisturized and it lasts. I did this mask in the evening and woke up to skin that felt so much softer and less dry. I love the way this mask smells and it’s so relaxing after a long day. I have been wearing this mask in the evening as part of my evening routine (see why I have an evening routine on my free webinar Boundary Setting For Entrepreneurs). Grab these for gift baskets, stocking stuffers, and a cute item to add to the top of a gift that WORKS!

AFFORDABLE STYLE BOX | NADINE WEST REVIEW

October 7, 2019 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

Have you ever wondered how a clothing subscription box works? Nadine West offers an affordable style subscription service.

I have shared my outfits from Nadine West for well over a year now on my blog (read the posts here). Nadine West sent me this box for my consideration for review but I was not paid to write this post and as always all opinions are my own.

What is Nadine West?

NadineWest.com is a company that sends you an outfit to try on and you keep only what you love. The outfit is a surprise, but you take a style quiz and the stylists get to know your style more each month. The outfits are affordable with pieces costing about $10-$30 each, which is very affordable compared to other similar services.

How Does Nadine West Work?

On the Nadine West website, you take the style quiz so that the stylist can get to know what you are looking for in an outfit. You will receive a pink package in the mail with your personalized outfit. Try on the outfit and keep what you love and send back what you don’t.

My Thoughts On Nadine West

The style quiz was super easy to do, which was great because I wanted something that didn’t take too much time but I was still able to make notes to make sure the stylist knew my preferences. I really loved the surprise aspect of this, and it was like opening up a girly gift from a really stylish friend. I cannot stand having to return things, it is such a bummer, but I LOVE the way this company does it because your outfit comes with return shipping.

Nadine West Coupon Code

Use the referral code “Nadine” on NadineWest.com (not an affiliate code for me, just sharing the one they currently have on their website) to waive your shipping fee which means you’ll get your outfit in the mail without paying anything!

Nadine West Unboxing

This was a month where I did receive quite a few pieces that I didn’t like, but thankfully Nadine West has a good return process and policy. I am picky about jewelry, I really only like delicate pieces and stud earrings. I also like solid, neutral colors. I only got three pieces that I chose to keep, but they’re GREAT pieces. I am in love with the navy blouse that I got, it has three fabric colored buttons in the front and a white tie at the neck. I love this because for work events or meetings I like to dress “Snappy Casual” as we said in my sorority days, or smart casual as it’s more commonly known to the masses. I also received a pair of wide leg culotte pants that have a ruched high waist that is really flattering, and of course I would be amiss if I didn’t rave about the fact that THEY HAVE POCKETS! They hit me right at the widest part of my calf, and because of this I think they look best with a heel. I like these because they’re another great neutral I can dress up or down. The third item is an extremely fitted gray shirt, and it’s the type of shirt that is almost too tight, but for some reason this one is stretchy enough that it’s comfortable and I think it’ll be wonderful this fall and winter under cardigans and sweaters when I really want to layer up.

Nadine West Final Thoughts

I love getting my Nadine West box each month! Most months I get a few things that I love, but I do wish that there was a simple form to update style preferences or check-in each month to see what I’d like to find in my box. I hope that I will continue to get neutral pieces that fit my style and delicate jewelry that works with my sense of style. I would love to see some simple, neutral-colored maxi dresses for spring, too. I would rather receive two or three nicer items than a lot of pieces that aren’t as nice of quality.

Have you tried any fashion boxes like this? Have you tried Nadine West? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

Have a wonderful rest of your week! Thank you for reading! xx

Monistat Chafing Gel As Makeup Primer | Does It Work?

July 22, 2019 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

In the summer I like to find no-nonsense products that aren’t fussy and help my makeup last in the heat and humidity of a midwest summer. I always use a makeup primer, even when I only wear concealer and powder, so I go through makeup primers fast. I had heard that you could use MONISTAT Chafing Gel as a Smashbox Photo Finish Primer dupe, so I finally gave it a try. *Note: The MONISTAT Chafing Gel is not the same as the MONISTAT vaginal products, so make sure you purchase the right item!

What is MONISTAT Chafing Relief Gel?

MONISTAT Chafing Relief Powder is said to provide on-the-go prevention and relief from chafing and irritation of the skin in intimate, delicate areas like the inner thigh, bikini area, underarms, and breasts.  Made especially for women, the exclusive Powder-Gel® formula combines the protective benefits of lotion and powder by forming a silky, breathable moisture control barrier to fight friction.  Delicate skin feels healthy and protected from uncomfortable irritation caused by moisture, heat, movement, and shaving.  Also helps reduce the appearance of redness that can develop after shaving or waxing the bikini area.  Works with just one application and is gentle enough to use every day.

MONISTAT Chafing Relief Gel vs. Smashbox Photofinish Primer

MONISTAT Chafing Relief Gel Ingredients:

Active Ingredients: Dimethicone – 1.2 %

Inactive Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica, Tocopheryl Acetate, Trisiloxane

Smashbox Photofinish Primer Ingredients:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Trisiloxane, Silica, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Extract, Propylene Glycol, Water, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Cola Acuminata (Kola) Seed Extract, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract.

My Thoughts

Smashbox Photofinish Primer is $36 for 1oz and MONISTAT Chafing Relief Gel is $5.98 on Amazon for 1.5 oz. Smashbox does have a bunch of variations (radiance, redness reducer, superlight, minimize pores, and oil and shine control) so trying those may be something you want to consider, but if you’re a fan of the Smashbox Photofinish Primer it performs exactly the same as the MONISTAT Chafing Relief Gel but it is 6 times the cost.

Have you ever used the MONISTAT Chafing Gel as a makeup primer? Do you have any great makeup or skincare dupes? If so, please share them in the comments! Thank you! xx
