Hi there! Happy Wednesday!

We are halfway through the work week and I am already excited for Friday (Grace and Frankie Season 5 will be on Netflix on Friday, so you know where to find me on Friday night!)

In college every girl on campus, myself included, wore a consistent uniform of leggings and North Face jackets. We’ve all seen the memes about millennial moms wearing leggings to drink wine instead of hit the elliptical. And now, leggings on the daily has a name; athleisure.

 

 

Lululemon Align Legging Dupes

I own one pair of Lululemon leggings, and they are phenomenal, but the price is substantial. I have been on a mission for a Lululemon Align “dupe” for a more affordable price and these are it. They offer the same look, aren’t at all see-through (who else has been there at yoga class? Just me?), and even have pockets! These don’t offer the same sucks-you-in feel, they do it but not as well as Lululemon, but for $25 which is $65 LESS? I’ll take it!

Lululemon Define Jacket Dupe

I have wanted a zip jacket like this that I could wear casually on a school run or on the treadmill for a run run, and I love this! It’s super flattering, well made, and passes my “shoulder test” across the back and shoulders because it has plenty of stretch. I like this so much that I want to grab one in black and try more from Degree.

Affordable 1/4 Shearling Fleece 

I love the shearling fleece trend, and I wanted a 1/4 zip but didn’t want to shell out a lot of money for one. I found this one on Amazon and took a gamble. When it came I ripped it open and my fingers touched some of the softest fabric I’ve ever felt. I call it my cozy bear sweatshirt now and my little loves love cuddling with me when I wear it (WIN). It isn’t the highest quality, but it looks really cute and is truly one of the coziest items I own. You have to be careful when ordering because they have other fleece items on the same listing, but for the price, this is a winter must.

Walmart Avia Sweatshirt

Walmart has really upped their game (so many of you went crazy for my Walmart sweater post) and they have some really cute workout or athleisure gear. I first discovered it last summer when I bought a high neck black tank top that I styled by tying at the side and wore constantly and received questions about it regularly. Walmart has winter clearance in January each year, and while you may not be able to find this exact piece, it’s definitely worth checking out. I also peeped their spring stuff? They have a long sleeve lavender top with my name on it and at $12 is a steal even at full price. Oh, this black cowl neck crew? $3!

I hope that you’re feeling energized and ready for a fresh, new week!  I have shared my outfits from Nadine West before on my blog (read the posts here) I have been wearing some items from my last several boxes a lot lately, so I was so excited to receive a new box in the mail from them.  Nadine West sent me this box for my consideration for review but I was not paid to write this post and as always all opinions are my own.

What is Nadine West?

NadineWest.com is a company that sends you an outfit to try on and you keep only what you love. The outfit is a surprise, but you take a style quiz and the stylists get to know your style more each month. The outfits are affordable with pieces costing about $10-$30 each, which is very affordable compared to other similar services.

How Does It Work?

On the Nadine West website, you take the style quiz so that the stylist can get to know what you are looking for in an outfit. You will receive a pink package in the mail with your personalized outfit. Try on the outfit and keep what you love and send back what you don’t.

My Thoughts

The style quiz was super easy to do, which was great because I wanted something that didn’t take too much time but I was still able to make notes to make sure the stylist knew my preferences. I really loved the surprise aspect of this, and it was like opening up a girly gift from a really stylish friend. I cannot stand having to return things, it is such a bummer, but I LOVE the way this company does it because your outfit comes with return shipping.

What Did I Get?

This month I received a navy and white striped sweater, a pair of black and gray striped yoga pants, a skirt, a pair of square gold and rhinestone diamante stud earrings, a gold arrow bracelet, a delicate leaf necklace, a burgundy poncho top, and a red sweatshirt top.

Did I Keep It?

I love the navy sweater, it is simple, comfortable, and very much my style. I also love all of the jewelry this month! I was excited about the poncho, but unfortunately, the off the shoulder style of it makes it something I don’t think I’ll wear often. I do like the red sweatshirt, but I it isn’t something I will wear much unless I am hanging out at home. I did not like the yoga pants or the skirt. Overall, this wasn’t the best box but I was excited to have the jewelry pieces exactly to my style, and the sweater is a new go-to!

Final Thoughts

I love getting my Nadine West box each month! Most months I get a few things that I love, but I do wish that there was a simple form to update style preferences or check-in each month to see what I’d like to find in my box. I really loved this box and hope that I will continue to get neutral pieces that fit my style and delicate jewelry that works with my sense of style.

I love adding cute details to my outfits even on casual days to make even a basic tee and leggings look put-together, and one of my favorite ways to do this is by using cute hair accessories. I love all of the 90’s trends that have crept back into our lives the past several years like dark lips, velvet, and my new obsession: the scrunchie!

I love the versatility of the scrunchie because if you purchase cute ones you can wear it as a bracelet, pull your hair back in a loose pony, or top it over a regular hair tie or hair elastic to add a little style to your regular pony, bun, or braid. I LOVE the brand Kitsch and have shared my Kitsch Hair Favorites many times and continue to consider it my favorite hair accessory brand. This is the set of Kitsch Hair Scrunchies I Bought and I love that they are my go-to neutral tones in metallic hues, which give a great bit of style to any outfit. STICKY BRA REVIEW | BRAS FOR BACKLESS SHIRTS | BRAS FOR LOW CUT SHIRTS

Hi there! Happy Monday! And, more importantly, Happy Christmas Eve if you celebrate!

We are a week away from NYE and if you’re like me, you get the perfect outfit for occasions like this and then at the last minute realize that your bra awkwardly shows. Not cute. So, this year I wanted to share a review for a sticky bra that you can order on Amazon for less than $15. I realize that this post may not be needed if you have a very small chest, and may not work if you have a very large chest, but if you’re at that in between size like I am, this post is for you. *Note: With clothing, there have been many times when I’d prefer to have a very flat chest and others where I could use some more volume…We always want what we don’t have, right?  If you do have a smaller or larger chest, you may still want to check out the Amazon reviews, because many women in all bra sizes have left helpful reviews.

 

 

 

Invisible Adhesive Bra 2 Pack 

If you search “sticky bra” on Amazon you’ll get a LOT of results, and I have tried several and honestly have had very similar results. My favorite bras are the ones that have the drawstring or lace-up style so I can somewhat adjust how much cleavage I would like. I have come to love this particular set because they come with two, the pack I ordered came with nude and black, and the adhesive is VERY sticky. Does it feel completely secure like an underwire bra? No, but I do feel covered, comfortable, and confident wearing clothing that is backless or a more low cut. Some sticky bras have little quarter sized circles for your nipples, but this particular bra does not, so I like to wear nipple petals like these because the idea of ripping this off at the end of the day without some nipple protection makes me shudder. Overall, completely worth trying a few out for the price.

Did I Keep It?

Unfortunately, I didn’t like most of the items that I got this month. I do love the purple leggings because they are super cozy and will be great for lounging around or workouts, and the black open faced shirt is a great basic that goes with everything. The necklace is beautiful, and the bracelet is a great delicate piece, but I didn’t have a “wow” item that I loved this month.

Final Thoughts

I love getting my Nadine West box each month! THE BEST AFFORDABLE OPEN-FRONT CARDIGAN | LESS THAN $20!!

Another weekend gone in a blink! This week my calendar is filled with Halloween related activities with my Little Loves and Big Love which is so much fun, but also a reminder of how quickly this fall is flying by! Do you have any fun Halloween plans? Do you dress up? I am trying to decide if I will dress up this year, and those adult-sized onesie costumes are looking more and more appealing for my Netflix-and-Wine mom lifestyle.

I am a huge fan of adding layers to take clothes tossed on the body into an outfit, and one of my favorite ways to do this is by wearing open-front cardigans. I use “The Rule of Threes” which means that a shirt and pants is just that but if you add an amazing scarf, pair of shoes, or jacket it becomes an outfit. Well, this past week I was browsing greeting cards at the local Walmart and saw this Time and Tru Double Knit Cardigan that I MUST share with you!

 

I couldn’t believe how classic this cardigan looked and then when I went closer I couldn’t believe how high-quality the fabric looked and felt. It’s a cotton, acrylic, and polyester blend but it truly minics a sweater with some wool in it. The two-tone look of it elevates it in a way that makes it look more luxurious and high-end. It fits beautifully (I purchased a size small and it’s true-to size for me) with a slightly relaxed fit and a duster sweater length. I like that I can roll up the sleeves, push up the sleeves, or wear the sleeves at full length. This sweater cardigan can be machine washed on the wool/delicate cycle and can be tumble dried, though I will hang it to dry as I do with all of my sweaters. Also, it is $19.96! AMAZING!

I am BEYOND impressed with this and plan to grab it in gray, too!

Did I Keep It?

I absolutely LOVE the jogger pants and wore them immediately and then washed them so I could wear them again. I also absolutely love the sweater and think it will be perfect as we head into the holiday season. I do not really care for the dress style hoodie, but I will pass it on to a friend. I like the gold necklace, and it has enough weight to it so that it doesn’t feel cheap at all. I don’t care for either pairs of earrings or the bracelets, BUT I will be doing a GIVEAWAY! I hope that you are having a great day!

I have never linked wrinkled clothing, and as I’ve gotten older I find that I notice it immediately on others, but I get that the idea of whipping out an ironing board is less than ideal for most of us with our busier-than-ever schedules. In fact, I only own a tiny tabletop iron (mom, it’s alright! Breathe! I am OKAY) because I am #TeamSteam and only use a steamer for our de-wrinkling needs. I also am a fan of the “toss it in the dryer” method, but sometimes you need a little more than that. So, today I want to share a product that I use several times a week and swear by! Also, it’s PERFECT to straighten up your clothes on-the-go if you’re sitting at a desk all day but then have to look nice end-of-day for a cocktail hour or if you’re in the carpool line for hours but then need to hit the PTO meeting.

 

 

What It Is

They call it “your new iron” which I’ll admit makes me laugh but it seriously is my preferred version of ironing! Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus is an easy-to-use wrinkle spray that reduces wrinkles and helps keep your clothes looking neat without the hassle of ironing. It can be used as an odor eliminator, fabric refresher, static remover, ironing aid, and is great for travel!

Why I Love It

When it’s a collared dress shirt or a dressier item, I usually mentally note that I have to steam before wear, but about 80% of my closest is items that I want to look smooth and wrinkle-free but doesn’t need to be extra crisp. I pull out the clothing I want to wear the night before (amazing “hack” that keeps me from trying to grab a sweatshirt and leggings every day) and I will spray the clothing with Downy Wrinkle Release Plus and then start in the center and use flat hands to smooth it out and lightly tug the edges. It smells fresh and clean, saves me tons of time, and I never look like the clothing was just yanked out of a mountain of laundry I have yet to fold (even if it has!).

I hope that your week is off to a phenomenal start! I am feeling energized this morning, and it feels so good to start the week off right (coffee in hand, of course). Energy level aside, it is chilly here this morning in Michigan, and now boot season is in full swing. I have been wanting a pair of Chelsea boots for a while now, and JustFab has the *perfect* pair right now that I knew I had to share with you.

Why I LOVE Them

I love the black onyx faux leather because it has a little texture that I find makes faux leather look more expensive and more like real leather. I love that I can just slip these boots on, which is a lifesaver as I am running out the door in the mornings (Also for slipping my boots on and off 10 times because my Little Loves or I forgot something, let’s be real!). These boots are super comfortable and they go well with almost anything! I love these so much that I want to get them in the taupe color!! I love so many of the boots on JustFab right now and they always wear very well for me.
