Deiva Scented Sachet Review | A new take on potpourri

September 30, 2024 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

I remember my mom having potpourri in a chest at the end of her bed when I was growing up and from time to time she’d give me some to put into my dresser, so, when I received two Deiva Scented Sachets in Bangla Mala and Bloom On Equator I was excited to try them.

Deiva Scented Sachets

At first, I tried putting one in my small walk-in closet but I didn’t notice any fragrance, sadly, but the light scent is very pleasant to me when used in dresser drawers. I love that the products are made with traditional old-world Southeast Asia fragrance rituals, and they are hand-crafted and safe around pets and children. The presentation is beautiful, and they’d make a lovely addition to a hostess gift.

Do you use a product like this?

Skwad Skincare Review | Skincare For Teens

September 23, 2024 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

Hailey, our thirteen-year-old, is very interested interested in skincare. I knew she’d be the perfect person to help me review the Skwad Skincare for Teens. We both used four products for over a month and today I am going to share my thoughts.

Skwad Skincare Review Skincare For Teens

I received the Starter Skincare Set with a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and a shaving cream/mask combo product. I love the ease of this set, and I think it’s the perfect starting point for pre-teens and teens who are just learning about skincare.

SKWEEZ Gentle Exfoliating Face Wash 100ml

Containing a bio-friendly exfoliant, this face wash cleanser is gentle and effective while also visibly brightening and softening skin.  The skin barrier is protected for it to stay moisturized.

SKWIRT Hydrating and Exfoliating Facial and Body Toning Spray 100 ml

A hydrating, exfoliating toning spray that helps clarify and refresh the appearance of skin. This innovative sap can be used as a toner or on its own. Mom may use this on the quiet because our ingredient combination can also help reduce fine lines and even skin tone. This is my FAVORITE of the four products.

SKWISH Hydrating Moisturiser 100 ml

An easy-to-use, fast-to-absorb, protective, and hydrating moisturizer packed with non-greasy nutritious oils for teen skin, combined with heavyweight antioxidants that feel as light as a soufflé.  Gentle yet effective ingredients protect the skin, increase its barrier function, and improve hydration.

SKRAPE Nourishing Face Mask & Shaving Cream 100 ml

A revolutionary dual-function mask packed full of vitamin-rich ingredients.  It can be used as a shaving cream or a face mask.  Whichever way it is used, it hydrates and protects the skin.

SKWAD Toiletry Bag For Teenage Girls and Boys

The toiletry bag is made from recycled grey RPET canvas (one of the most sustainable, recyclable, and circular materials) and a recycled white waterproof polyester lining with an inside pocket.

What skincare does your teen love?

KIMTRUE Skin Purifying Cleansing Balm

August 26, 2024 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

I have been using the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water for years, but my teenager loves cleansing balm so when KimTrue offered to send me their KimTrue Skin Purifying Cleansing Balm to try, I was excited.

KimTrue Skin Purifying Cleansing Balm

I love the texture of the cleansing balm and the way it breaks down the makeup. I do not find that it irritates my combo skin. I found that it was very good at removing even my waterproof mascara. I did not notice if this product provides brightening properties, but I do feel that the deep cleaning power alone is worth it. Get that grim out, gals!

Have you tried a cleansing balm?

What’s Next? A Life Size Game and What’s Next a Life Size Transition Game

August 12, 2024 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday! Happy Birthday to my husband, too!

I was offered the chance to review the game What’s Next? A Life Size Game and What’s Next a Life Size Transition Game and while it is different than my usual content, I was excited to share it because I am a parent and I thought you might enjoy this post, too.

M & J Games a Life-Size Game and M & J Games a Life-Size Transition Game

This game has soft foam pieces, a giant die which our whole household got a kick out of, and a simple way to set it up that we used both indoors and outdoors. We also tried the version with transition pieces you can add, which is meant for people on the spectrum.

I enjoyed this game so much that I plan to gift one to the resource room teacher who works with one of our children. I love that it doesn’t take too long to play, and is simple for the whole family to catch on and modify to their needs.

This is a fun family game and definitely different and a way to get outside!

Have a great weekend : )

Palm Royale Style

July 29, 2024 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

I’ve been loving the Palm Royale style, which to me is bright prints, fabulous sunglasses, silk scarves, chunky heels…essentially 60’s Florida. This style has been brought to the forefront and made a resurgence because of the Apple TV show Palm Royale. Today I am going to share with you a few of my favorite Palm Royale styles.

Silk Scarf

Platform Heels (mine are this but the version from two years ago)

Shift Dress (mine is a decade old and a hand-me-down but similar colors!)

Sunglasses

Cutest Straw Bag

What do you think of this style? Let me know!

What To Wear to a Niall Horan TSLOT Concert

July 15, 2024 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

I attended the Niall Horan concert The Show Live On Tour last week and I am going to share with you what to wear to a Niall Horan concert.

When I googled “What To Wear To a Niall Horan Concert” and “Niall Horan Concert Ideas” and looked on TikTok I found a lot of cute ideas and a video of Niall saying “Wear whatever you like, come as you are” which is so sweet and kind. I saw a lot of denim on denim, oversized tees, crochet, daisy patterns, or cute tanks with cut-off shorts. And LOTS of white sneakers.

What To Wear to a Niall Horan Concert

Free People Denim Corset

Abercrombie Maxi Skirt

Frye Leather Sneakers

DIY Rhinestone Fringe Denim Jacket

Are you going to any fun concerts this summer? Let me know in the comments!

DENMAN HAIR BRUSHES | Mason Pearson Dupe?

July 8, 2024 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

When Denman Brushes reached out to me I was so excited. I am notorious for not replacing my brushes until they’re scraping my scalp, and beyond our Wet Brushes, we are lacking in the brush department. I would love a Mason Pearson someday, but that is in no way in my current budget, so I am excited to share the Denman brushes with you in case you’re also not willing to pay $275 for a hairbrush.

Denman Style and Shine D81M

I am so excited because the Denman Style and Shine D81M brush looks incredibly similar to the Mason Pearson famously expensive brush for less than 10% of the price. I have never touched or used the Mason Pearson, but I will tell you that the Denman Style and Shine brush made my hair shine in a way that none of my other brushes do. I was actually surprised when I walked past a mirror because I hadn’t used any different products and then remembered that I’d used this brush for the first time. It also uses real boar bristles, and I am a believer. A big win! This would be an incredible gift for your daughter, sister, mother, or friend! And it’s less than 6 months until Christmas, just saying, it’d fit in a stocking.

Denman Wet Detangler

I was excited for this! I love my Wet Brush Paddle Brush but I do not use that in the shower. This is really nice for my daughter and my longhaired son to use in the shower to make sure the conditioner is evenly distributed.

What hair brushes do you use? I’d love to know!

What To Wear to the Ballet | Rent The Runway

July 1, 2024 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

If I caught you by the title and that’s your only reason for being here, I’ll cut to the chase; You can wear whatever you’d like. Check the venue and company, but most ballets now do not have a formal dress code. That said, I think anytime you attend any fine arts performance, from a 5th-grade band concert to a Broadway show, you should dress up. Now, that’s a wide range and my go-to for most things is “snappy casual” (business casual if you weren’t a sorority girl) but for a ballet in the city at a historic venue my friends and I decided to go all-out in gowns. There were people dressed up, but we were some of the most dressed up. And the result? We got many compliments, people asking where our dresses were, an older gentleman who had a great knowledge of the arts told us he appreciated that we dressed up as a sign of respect and how special it was. You can never be “overdressed”. I rented a gown from Rent The Runway and I wanted to share my thoughts.

Badgley Mischka Draped Dolman Sleeve Chiffon Gown

As described on the website I felt elegant in this lavender pink gown.

Drapey, dreamy, and utterly divine—our Draped Dolman Sleeve Chiffon Gown is a breath of elegance. The gown seems to float on air, with each fold and gather of the chiffon designed to sculpt your figure and move in sync with you. This creates a generous cut that billows and flows with every step you take, providing a graceful yet dreamlike aura.

Product Features

The gown starts with a V wrap-neckline that delicately frames your décolletage, leading into the artful drapery that defines the chiffon bodice. Taking a cue from the classic Dolman style, the sleeves boast a generous cut that billows and flows, adding a whisper of elegance to every gesture.

Have you ever used Rent The Runway? What was your experience?
