This summer I was doing a lot of high-mileage running in humid weather and realized that I needed to find something to prevent blisters and make sure I didn’t have any chafing issues. Why I Love 2Toms SportShield®

I wanted a product that I could put on the tops of my toes and along with other pressure points, including where my sports bra straps cross. I found this product at a running store that I trust, and love that the roll-on style isn’t messy, and dries quickly so I can put it on without a hassle when I am getting ready to head out for a run. I let the product dry for a minute or two before putting on my socks and gear, and that seems to be adequate I do not notice any scent and love that it isn’t a hassle to remove and doesn’t stain my clothes. Why I Love ROC Daily Resurfacing Disks

I was heading with my family on vacation for a week and I didn’t want to pack a messy facial cleanser (yep, it’s the truth! I know there are ways, and I’ve done them, but I wanted simple for this trip) and so I packed a jar of my ROC Daily Resurfacing Disks that I had been gifted by my mother-in-law. Because this was the only facial wipe or facial cleanser I packed, I used them exclusively for the entire vacation and MY FACE LOOKED INCREDIBLE! I couldn’t believe how good my skin and face felt. Hi there! Happy Monday! And, if you’re in the United States, Happy Labor Day! I hope that you are relaxing with those you hold dear today.

I love doing face masks both for my skincare and for my self-care. Having a fun mask to look forward to at the end of a long day keeps my spirits up and is a great way to pamper myself and doing it multiple times a week helps my overall mental health.

This mask states that it will tone and smooth your skin with a boost of hydration. It says to rinse your skin off after.

My Thoughts

I bought this mask for the lace and it is really cool that it is actually a piece of lace and not just a lace pattern. I definitely would include this in my mask rotation again. This would also be a great mask to include in a gift for a masking lover.

I have shared my outfits from Nadine West for well over a year now on my blog (read the posts here). Nadine West sent me this box for my consideration for review but I was not paid to write this post and as always all opinions are my own.

What is Nadine West?

NadineWest.com is a company that sends you an outfit to try on and you keep only what you love. The outfit is a surprise, but you take a style quiz and the stylists get to know your style more each month. The outfits are affordable with pieces costing about $10-$30 each, which is very affordable compared to other similar services.

How Does Nadine West Work?

On the Nadine West website, you take the style quiz so that the stylist can get to know what you are looking for in an outfit. You will receive a pink package in the mail with your personalized outfit. Try on the outfit and keep what you love and send back what you don’t.

My Thoughts On Nadine West

The style quiz was super easy to do, which was great because I wanted something that didn’t take too much time but I was still able to make notes to make sure the stylist knew my preferences. I really loved the surprise aspect of this, and it was like opening up a girly gift from a really stylish friend. I cannot stand having to return things, it is such a bummer, but I LOVE the way this company does it because your outfit comes with return shipping.

Nadine West Unboxing

This is my favorite Nadine West box EVER! I got a few things I didn’t like, but I got a beautiful off-the-shoulder white top with black stripes, which I love because I am a neutral girl! I do not like cold-shoulder tops anymore, but I do love off-the-shoulder. I was pleasantly surprised with the plaid shirt the buttons in the back and has ruffles because I love it on! I think it will be super cute for work conferences and am happy I got it. The striped high-neck tank I wasn’t wowed by but ended up loving it on. And this black dress?! It is stunning! I can’t believe it! I wouldn’t have picked it out, but now I want an excuse to wear it.

Nadine West Final Thoughts

I love getting my Nadine West box each month! Most months I get a few things that I love, but I do wish that there was a simple form to update style preferences or check-in each month to see what I’d like to find in my box. I hope that I will continue to get neutral pieces that fit my style and delicate jewelry that works with my sense of style. I would love to see some simple, neutral-colored maxi dresses for spring, too. I would rather receive two or three nicer items than a lot of pieces that aren’t as nice of quality.

Products that I have been using for years, my old standbys, often don’t get enough love on here. I curl my hair multiple times a week, and certainly always for special occasions, and my go-to curling tools are my Nume Wands. I purchased two wands and one straightener from Nume years ago, and so when Nume reached out about a collaboration I was elated! I did receive the Nume OctoWand in exchange for my consideration for review, but as always all opinions are my own.

The Nume OctoWand is an interchangeable curling iron. This set features eight 100 percent tourmaline ceramic barrels which create curls that last and have a great shine. The OctoWand has infrared heat and negative ions, the Nume OctoWand curler eliminates frizz and locks in moisture with each use. This 8-in-1 NuMe product includes the 13mm, 19mm, 25mm, 32mm, Pearl, Reverse, 19mm Cone, and 25mm Cone barrels and base, as well as a heat-resistant styling glove and convenient travel case.

My OctoWand Review

I love all the options! The wand features heat adjustments and an on and off switch. I love that I can see the temperature on the digital screen. I did accidentally turn the wand off a few time with my hand while I was using it, but with some practice, I haven’t had the issue. One thing to keep in mind is that you could switch the wands to do two different styles but the wands are extremely hot, so it isn’t easy to switch them quickly. I have had so much fun experimenting with the different wands and have used it for my daughter for dance. If you want options, this is the way to go!

Also, it sprayed evenly and didn’t discolor my white swimsuit.

Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara Review

In the summer one of my go-to looks is “no-makeup makeup” with bare eyelids but big lashes. I got a deluxe size sample of the new Too Faced Damn Girl and want to share my thoughts with you today.

About the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara

This mascara is being compared to the Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced which is an OG in the beauty community and is still extremely popular. Jared Blandino, the cofounder of Too Faced Cosmetics, said that the Damn Girl mascara is made with two unique pigments (one an opaque, creamy black, the other a sheer, glossy texture) that combine to create a super dark result and the melting waxes that fuse together to make it easier to layer.

My Thoughts

I do like Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced, but it isn’t my favorite mascara. I also think that the L’Oreal Lash Paradise is a good enough dupe for the Better Than Sex that I buy it instead. I heard that a lot of people think, “Damn Girl this wand is TOO big” when they look at the Damn Girl wand, but because I have large eyes and long lashes, I don’t personally have this issue. I LOVE that this doesn’t clump and holds a curl for me all day. The Damn Girl mascara gave me great length, so much so that my lashes touched my skin and I had a little smudge, so I am anxious for when they release the waterproof version. All in all, yes I like this mascara but it isn’t changing my world. My “holy grail” mascara for when I want intense lashes is still the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Volume 2.

This was a great box for me! I got two pairs of shorts that I love, one olive pair that is ridiculously comfortable and I love the way they look with a cotton tank tucked in. I also got a pair of blush-colored shorts with white striped that look beautiful with a white or blush colored tank. I got a burgundy shirt with lace short sleeves that is pretty, but the neutral-loving girl in me knows I won’t gravitate to it often. I got an orangey-red and white striped dress that I LOVE because it is super stretchy, comfortable, and flattering but I wish it was a color I liked a bit better on myself. I prefer blue-toned red and of course, navy or black would have worked well for my color preferences. If you like that dress on me, let me know and if you think I should pass on it, let me know. My FAVORITE item in the box is a pair of nautical vibe pants that are white with blue pinstripes that flare out at the ankle. I wore them with a blue halter tank top (*similar). I also received a few floral items, but I prefer dots, stripes, or solids. I also did not like the jewelry I got this month.

In the summer I like to find no-nonsense products that aren’t fussy and help my makeup last in the heat and humidity of a midwest summer. I always use a makeup primer, even when I only wear concealer and powder, so I go through makeup primers fast. I had heard that you could use MONISTAT Chafing Gel as a Smashbox Photo Finish Primer dupe, so I finally gave it a try. *Note: The MONISTAT Chafing Gel is not the same as the MONISTAT vaginal products, so make sure you purchase the right item!

What is MONISTAT Chafing Relief Gel?

MONISTAT Chafing Relief Powder is said to provide on-the-go prevention and relief from chafing and irritation of the skin in intimate, delicate areas like the inner thigh, bikini area, underarms, and breasts. Made especially for women, the exclusive Powder-Gel® formula combines the protective benefits of lotion and powder by forming a silky, breathable moisture control barrier to fight friction. Delicate skin feels healthy and protected from uncomfortable irritation caused by moisture, heat, movement, and shaving. My Thoughts

Smashbox Photofinish Primer is $36 for 1oz and MONISTAT Chafing Relief Gel is $5.98 on Amazon for 1.5 oz. Smashbox does have a bunch of variations (radiance, redness reducer, superlight, minimize pores, and oil and shine control) so trying those may be something you want to consider, but if you’re a fan of the Smashbox Photofinish Primer it performs exactly the same as the MONISTAT Chafing Relief Gel but it is 6 times the cost.

By Nature Vitamin C + Collagen Mask

I LOVE masking and typically use masks as part of my skincare routine multiple times each week. In the summer, instead of peel-off or mud masks, I find myself wanting to use sheet masks after days in the sun. I really like By Nature Sheet Masks, and was excited to try the By Nature Vitamin C + Collagen Mask because vitamin C has become one of my favorite skincare ingredients.

About By Nature Vitamin C + Collagen Mask

The By Nature Skincare Website claims that the mask will give moisturizing and nutrient-packed quality, providing firming and elasticity properties while giving the skin added moisture. Vitamin C helps to even out the skin tone and add hydration, and it is an antioxidant that can reduce inflammation and can help with collagen production.

My Thoughts

This mask felt so good on my skin! I removed my makeup and then applied this after a particularly hot and humid day and it felt wonderful! I sometimes even toss my sheet masks into the fridge or freezer for a few minutes before I put them on, but even without doing this it felt cool and refreshing. I definitely felt like this mask added moisture back to my skin after a day spent in the sun, and the vitamin C helped even out the inflammation and uneven tone of my skin. I was most impressed by how wet this mask was, so much so that even though I expected my skin to soak it all up like a sponge, I ended up with quite a bit of the liquid from the mask left when I took it off so I rubbed that gently onto my face, decollete, and hands. Some of the claims, like the collagen making your skin more firm, I would need to use this mask more regularly to see if I noticed the mask helping with that. I do use face masks typically two or three times each week and notice that it helps with my skins overall appearance. I will continue purchasing this mask to use during the summer.

You can find these masks at Walmart stores for $2.50 which I think it a great price point because you can try it without breaking the bank. I think spending $5 a week on masks that offer some relaxing self-care as well as a great addition to your skincare routine.
