Maybelline Master Conceal by Face Studio Camouflage Concealer Review

May 6, 2019 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

I hope that you had a fantastic weekend! It was a gorgeous weekend here in Michigan, and I loved getting to spend time in the yard with my family. Do you enjoy landscaping and gardening? We are at a stage in life where I’m happy if the lawn is mowed, but in a few years I hope to add that to my plate ; )

If I am relaxing with my family or wanting a “no-makeup makeup” look I keep it very simple, but concealer is something I always reach for. I have been looking for a good drugstore skin toned concealer that I can wear with my brightening color corrector concealer for my under eyes. I do love Tarte Shape Tape for when I want a hardcore concealer and the First Aid Beauty Bendy Avocado Concealer for daily concealing, but I am on the hunt for a more affordable option.

About the Maybelline Master Conceal by Face Studio Camouflage

The Maybelline website states that this is a full coverage concealer that camouflages imperfections and dark circles. Maybelline’s full-coverage, high-resistance concealer claims it will camouflage imperfections and dark circles to deliver an undetectable finish.

My Thoughts

I purchased the shade fair, which is the lightest of the five shade range. Right off the bat, I love that this concealer has a squeeze tube and a small opening because it is sanitary and easy to not waste. The consistency of this concealer is much more liquidy than I anticipated for a concealer that has camouflage in the name, but I like that this blended easily with a damp sponge or a brush. I was impressed with how well this covered minor imperfections like blemishes and redness, and it looked great over my color correcting Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in Brightener for my very dark, deep-set under eye circles. If you have minor darkness, you may find that this is enough to cover your dark circles, but for mine, I like to color correct a little bit and then use a skin-toned concealer over the top. The Maybelline Master Conceal by Face Studio Camouflage Concealer didn’t settle into fine lines and wore very well throughout the day on my combo/oily skin. For $8 I think this is an excellent concealer that has earned a spot in my go-to makeup drawer.  I have been using this concealer a lot on days where I don’t wear foundation but want to use a little concealer.

My Routine

I always prime my face with a primer (this is my favorite) and then put my favorite color-correcting concealer on my under eyes before putting my Maybelline Master Conceal by Face Studio Camouflage Concealer on my dark circles, imperfections, and areas of the face I want to brighten. I set my concealer with a loose setting powder (this is my favorite) with a dry beauty sponge and let that bake on my face while I do my eyebrows. I lightly brush off the powder with a fan brush before continuing with the rest of my makeup.
